Good luck, and let us know how much improvement the Ohlins are.

The Öhlins is a great improvement! Didn´t make me a winner though... My excuse is that I was probably the oldest guy on the track :-)

So you run with ICE bikes. How do they decide which class to put you in? And if you weren't last it is all good.

It´s a local race and I was the only one who ran an e-bike. Actually, I´ve never heard of anybody racing an e-bike in a race like this before so it was fun to try. I will probably do some more of these local races next year.

There is one class for faster riders and age-classes for "hobby-riders" like me. One for riders under 40 and one for riders over 40. No 125, 250 or 450 classes.

And no, I wasn´t last - but not so far from...

I saw a red shift run once before. Got the hole shot as they did dead engine starts. It went 3 in the open pro class but couldn't recharge fast enough for the second Moto. The series runs two thirty minute mx style woods Moto's it's to bad HD killed Alta.

    My new e-bike!
I have just bought a 2019 KTM Freeride e. I´ve upgaded it with Öhlins suspension front and rear, handlebar risers, led front light and studded tires.
Now I have the "bigger" 3,9 kWh battery pack in the new bike and an extra 3,9 kWh pack to swap with. That will give med 2-3 hours of riding on the enduro track.
Just waiting för snow and ice!

Very nice! Good luck with it.

Can you tell us more about the LED headlight setup? Did you put it together yourself or is it something you bought from a retailer?

    Thanks. -Eddie

I put the headlight together myself. I took a broken headlight from an old bike, removed the glass, drilled a bigger hole in the back and attatched a cheap led that I bought online. I used the wiring from the old headlight, so it´s "plug-and-play".

Right on, thanks. I need to put a headlight on my Alta and also power the rear LED brake light.

And keep us posted on how your new Freeride does, especially in the enduros!

Headlight mod looks great - so do all the suspension upgrades!

Since you're running it as a snow/ice bike - any chance you'd be willing to provide a few anecdotes on winter vs. summer battery performance as the seasons progress?

30th of December in Sweden and +9 degrees centigrade - strange weather! Took the studded tires off and put on ordinary on my e-bike and and went to the Ransberg enduro track. Here´s one lap:
