Oh, not me, I was eulogizing for poor ole' loaded on his pre-03 :cry but, thankfully he has already pestered some recalcitrant KTM dealer into dealing with his problem and is now selling his flawed wheels to creeper. :lol3

I think you hit it there though; that this recall sounds like a recall of the "too wide rims. What did woody say? They are too wide for the available tires to protect the rim. Unfortunately, it sounds like the post-03 sorry buggers will end up with "strengthened" too wide rims. Hopefully they will be strong enough...

Aisle 7!?! Actolieber... will it never end... :cry
(thanks Mack - I felt it worthwhile to give back to the board that has given me so much :wave)

Someday... but for now the closest I might come is the White Mountains in early August (south of Bishop, CA near the Nevada border).

our long distance relationship must continue I am afraid... :cry

Told me to pound salt....a few months out of warrantee and second owner and all. Bike was new in Nov '04, and I bought from the original owner in April '05. In May, at 3,700 miles, the motor frags. Long sordid story and a bummer. :cry

I've been disgusted with it and haven't rebuilt it yet. I just wanted my '01 back, and have been riding my '96 RXC instead.

My '01 busted spokes all the time until I redid the wheels. I used OE chrome spokes and they worked fine once the wheel was built again.

    aw man...

i don't know if it would help but there are motors FS all the time on eBay, but in Europe. if you find one in the UK we could ask KTiM to help with shipping, the worst part of it all. just a thought if the motor is really shagged.

wish i could be more help.

    Gaspipe,
I might be able to sell you my '02 motor with a newly rebuilt tranny (and hydraulic clutch kit) and brand new piston once I get it back from the dealer, hopefully I'll have it next week. I bought an '04 motor on Ebay in Germany, and I plan to replace the rebuilt '02 with the '04. So let me know if you might be interested in working a deal. :deal

Dunno what you guys do to your bikes. I beat the shit out of mine, and have yet to prang the wheels.

Always did have shitty aim, keep missing those rocks.
