I was moving from one side of the road to another yesterday with an un-even surface. Wend down and did considerable damage to the 2007 990 ADV. Front axle is bent, at least one tube bent, rear sub-frame bent, plus other stuff. I am in Acayucan, Ver. Anyone with experience or direct knowledge of getting repairs at KTM shop any where around here? Thanks!

I have a scrape less than the size of a dollar bill on my right Love Handle and the smallest amount of soreness under my watch band. The moto jacket was torn up substantially on the right arm, elbow, and shoulder area. The shoulder pad was almost torn out. The pants were badly damaged and it even busted a zipper on my boots. Very little damage to the helmet. I was very lucky. I felt great when I got up this morning! :clap

Hiperbikes in Puebla can get you the parts or truck the bike to them if it is really serious. Pato at Hiperbikes can help you, one of the owners speaks English very well, also. Rafa Lago is in Spain at the moment, he should be back in a few weeks. Careful letting some little Italka type shop do anything to the bike.
Hiperbikes are good, they are a full line solid KTM dealer.

I have already spoken to the Insurance person about not wanting a 125cc mechanic do their style of repairs to my moto.

Sorry to hear of your off mate, glad you are plus or minus OK.

Maybe call on the OC lads too if needed.

If I were there I would be in boots and all but from Ecuador not much we can do.

    Cheers Andi

There's a big KTM dealership they opened a few months ago in Lerma, Estado de Mexico. It's part of the BMW Lerma dealership. Dunno if this info helps you, but there it is. I'm pretty sure they're sharing the shop space, but I can't vouch for the quality of the mechanics.

    Thanks!

I feel like they will total the moto, if not, I will insist on a KTM dealership.

hope this helps to solve the problem.
Also there are many motorcycle shops that have mechanics that did quit from the dealers and open their own and they know the bikes as much or more as the dealer... the problem is to find them but asking gets you to Rome..

The 990 was picked up yesterday and taken to an Auto Shop to be taken apart to review damages. I just talked with the Insurance Company to insist that any repairs done on the moto be done in a KTM Shop by authorized KTM Mechanics. I still feel like the moto will be "totaled" after further evaluation. Ana will probably be taking a bus to join me today. My hotel is only 307 miles from her house. Other than the scape on my side, I am 100%. :D

I may be in the market for a good used 990. Do you know about any? I have a bunch of 990 parts in Dallas waiting on me. I was prepping for another Central America ride.

Yes, I do too and I know it rides great because I have rode it. But, I as you, have drank the Orange Koolaid. Dang it is strong! :D I might even spring for a 1190ADVR.

If you get something that your extra parts won't work on , i can probably use them.
