KTM windshield for LC4's and Adv.

    I contacted Parabellum Windshields in Georgia to see if they made a windscreen for an '01 LC4 and also for a '02 640 Adventure. They don't stock a screen for either one, however they are willing to fit one for both bikes as long as it is with someone local. If there is anyone in the North Georgia area that would be interested in a screen, possibly for free, contact them at 706 864 8051
    You can read up on them at www.parabellum.com. The only affiliation that I have in this deal is that I want a screen for both of my bikes, and these guys are willing to make one if they have a bike to go off of. And you may get a free screen!

    Yeah. I bought it for my son so we could do some dualsport riding and camping, and I have a 640 Adv. They both do fine, but it would be nice if I had some sort of screen on both bikes to knockoff the worst part of the wind and rain. After looking around a bit for a windshield, it seems that no one makes one to fit either bike. Parabellum says on their website that they are willing to give you a free screen if you are willing to let them use your bike for testing. I live to far away, so I suggested to them that I might be able to find someone here that would be interested. Thats when they told me to post their number and site address, and then we would see if their are any takers!

    I just picked up an 01 LC4 E that is low mileage(4000), really clean and has the farkles that I would have put on immediatetly.
    bar risers
    tank bag
    bigger rear rack
    bark busters

    I love the bike and have had a blast putting a few hundred miles on it already.

    I have been researching windscreens and have posted on KTM Talk about the same issue. I was going to get a 640 Adventure but I don't really need the tank size so I settled on the lighter KTM Enduro.

    Problem: riding to trails and windslap

    Solution: I have looked high and low for windscreens that fit the bike(I don't want it to look like a big cruizer bike), are durable(can take a branch or two) and fit the angular KTM look. After alot of measuring I found that the KTM 950 Adventure windscreen(with minor cutting) is the right size, shape and look. Also, the windcreen is about $60 which fits my budget. I have also toyed with the idea of adding another light above the stock light - similar to the 950 light.

    Any ideas on this before before I start buying parts and trying to fit lights?

    I have a 2000 LC4E with a Spitfire windshield, but can't post pics here.
    I'll send them your way.
    BTW, for 50 - 60 bucks, it comes off in 10 seconds, easy to put back on, and does a great job of holding off the wind blast, not intrusive if riding off road, or two screws, and off it comes for really gnarly trails.

    I fitted a National cycle universal on my 625 SXC . On or off in 30 seconds, no tools. What's not to like.

    Still there. The headlight sits more forward than the stock one. Plenty of room behind the light for the wiring. Trail Tech sells a cover bracket that I did not get originally when I ordered the light. One is now on it's way. I'll post more detailed pics when this baby all finished. Right now swingarm is off the powder coater, shock is off to MX-Tech for re-spring/valving, have a Joe Racer oil cooler that will be custom mounted to skid plate, currently has Safari 27 ltr tank sides coated with truck bed liner, ( I had the KTM 28 ltr but hated the crossover lines and the need for a fuel pump. More chances for a problem long term). Custom decals in the works. Seat custom padded and covered. Also got some WP 4860 forks off of ebay that were re-worked by MX-Tech and black anodized. Billet triple clamps anodized orange. Hubs powder coated orange, rims anodized black. Full Akra exhaust and I'm sure of a couple other small details I'm forgetting. I always wanted a rally bike but when I couldn't find one I decided to just do the best with what I had.

    No doubt I want to show her off when she's all dressed for the prom. Got a couple more weeks of tinkering before the final unveiling. Actually taking her to Baja end of February for a little trip. Thanks for the compliment. There's definately alot of cool and unique rides on this site.

    Well, I have to say that the Laminar Lip is a success, at least for me. :clap (Thanks to Santa's elf, by the way.) The wind blast has been moved up from low chest and shoulders to about the middle of my face shield. By raising the wind blast, the 640 Adventure is much more pleasant to ride in the cold.

    The nice thing is that it's quickly reversible. If I find it to be a hindrance, I'll just pop it off and slide it into an old T shirt so that it doesn't get scratched and pop it into one of my bags. Granted it's not the most attractive device, but when seen from the rear when riding in low thirty degree temps, it doesn't look too bad.

    5'8", 30" inseam. No holes to drill. The "Lip" attaches with four round 3M Dualock discs. I ran it up to 93 mph (GPS) and everything remained solid.

    It's just a matter of prying the Dualock (sort of a supper velcro) discs apart. The four small disc halves remain attached to the cowling. Goo Gone will remove the glue of the discs if you elect to completely remove the "Dualock."
