I was waiting for these to arrive at dealers (new England) before buying the 750gs. Ktm must be really struggling. Anyone seen one in a dealer yet?

You won't be getting an R model this year unless you preordered it. You may find an S.

I have a friend who picked up a 790 Adventure R in Texas last week. And I have two friends who run adventure rental/tour companies in Colorado and Arizona - they each got two and were out on test-runs last week on them. They appear to be "appearing" for some. Another buddy of mine in Indiana, however, ordered his and the dealer said it would be the "second wave" for his and that was reportedly to be July.

If you are choosing between a GS and a 790R you may need to re-assess you requirements and they are worlds apart

    Not exactly true.

While it’s more difficult in the Tri-state area and I’m sure New England as well - my local dealer in nj pretty much laughed at me when I asked a few months ago. Told me I’d be 7th.

If you just keep your eyes open here, and are willing to travel. The unicorns are attainable.

Source: me. I wasn’t on any list till a few weeks ago *already posted as much

Anywho, this week is gonna really drag on. I put off getting mine for a week due to family coming to visit, unbeknownst to me.
Makes them happy that i postponed (I didn’t tell them the weather looks terrible for a fly and ride this week :lol3)

Edit to add. Don’t trust cycle trader, the stock it shows at dealers is not correct

Put a deposit to one R arriving in South Africa - Pretoria in August.

Very difficult to find one. Next delivery for Cape Town - December 2019.

I'm lucky to find one 1'500 kms from home ;-)

They will receive 6 and 4 are already reserved. Nice bike by the way.

    Already ordered:
    - SW-Motech GPS support
    - short levers ebay
    - Cruise control unit KTM
    - bar riser KTM
    - panier support KTM
    - rack Perun
    - side stand extension Perun

Enjoy! One question: will the shorter front brake lever fit the 790? I ordered a set of levers, and the clutch worked great. However, the 790 front brake lever has an integrated plunger design. My aftermarket levers are designed differently and the brake wont work on my bike.

I went into the dealer just to look at one in person, expecting any 790 on the floor to be already spoken for. Rode away with an S a couple of hours later.
