Location: Sundance, WY. (library) General status: about 4 days ahead of schedule. This was due to great weather in the Mid-West. Health is good. DR is good. Front bridgstone tyre that came with her has about 1,000 more miles. Current miles on DR is 9,500. Rear tyre is a Shinho 705 and has about 2,000+ miles and is doing well. So, I'm looking to take it slow and easy for a good while. Maybe 100 mile days, but again, weather and road conditions will determine this. 21st Wed Trip planning and staying off the DR all day. 22nd Th Ride to the Devils tower monument. Top off fuel in Hulett, then ride to New Haven (unless New Haven as a gas station) via the 105. Then ride to Rockypoint Then take Trail Creek Road to highway 59 take a right on Elk Creek road, then make my way to the town of Recluse. Get on highway 14 and 16 and ride west to Ucross, then north to Sheridan. That is 165 miles, so that is damn near perfect distance. fine motel or stealth camp near by. 23rd. Friday. I would like to take the 14A over Bald Mtn. The road is not showing any negative conditions. Ride to Powell and get my bearings. I have two options here. 1. Go for Bear Tooth highway via ride up the 294 and then head to Red Lodge, MT. 180 mile day, so rest in Red Lodge, MT. the next day ride south on the 212 and Engage the Beartooth Mountain Highway. (not sure on road conditions) 2. push on to Cody, and rest for the evening. From Sheridan to Cody is about 155 miles or so. 24th. sat the conservative approach woud be to just ride to cody. I'll be riding in southern MT in early Mid July any ways, so I could pick it up then. But, I would like ride this before the peak tourist season in early July. So ride into Yellowstone via the 16 and 20, 14, then ride around to Gardiner and let the Memerial day weekend tourist crowd settle down in the Nati Park. That should be a 160 mile day at least. Looks like Dunraven pass is being plowed as I type. 25th Sunday. Hopfeully have a rest day or something, maybe back track down to West Yellowstone and look at the some of the northern parts of the Park (Obsidian Cliff/ Norris Geyser Basin Museum/Museum of the Nati Park Ranger). 26th. MOnday As the bulk of the tourist pack up their gear and leave the park, I'll ride in and see old Faithfull and tour my way to Jackson.
