One could passivively tour the PNW and inlad PNW by just picking a road of any kind.

Closer to the east coast, one must actively tour. I have to hunt for the gems.

I will ride to Bayfield tomorrow.

Remain in Bayfield for the rest of the day. Retire back into the national forest west of Washburn.

Tomorrow. Ride to Ashland and see what is going on.
Slowly make my way to the Chequamegon National Forest.

MONDAY. ride east to Mercer, WI and go from there.

    -----
Ideally it would be sound to spend less and less time in areas that are close to base camp.
With 28 days max left on the tour, I have to start to go into crew chief mode and get my pit stops in order to take the checkered flag sometime in Aug. The 9th will be the last day.

The only planned days are two-three days in Cedar point, OH.

    So

    3 days UP.
    7 days lower pen.
    8 days Ohio
    3 W. VA.

6 days for flex time, and WI

I do not have any solid plans.

Does anyone know of any rallyes or events, COUNTY fairs?

    Thanks for reading

Slept i the porcuoine state park.

Tried getting up to the Misery Bay here, but failed, so so pushed east.

Will ride up the 203. Then toward Copper Harbor.

Had a perhaps bear incident. Around twlight (highway 26 north of lake Glazon, but on the north side of the road), i was woken by some loud exhailing noses. A car drove by 50 feet away with plenty of veg, and the beast crashed through the woods toward the Lake.

I thought it was a moose or a hoofed animal because its foot steps were so loud.

However the locals say there are no moose or elk about.:deal

I doubt it was a buck. They make hog like grunting sounds, but this was more of a clearing of the nosterals sound.

    ------
Plan is to ride toward Marquette. I have already done 53 miles, so another 50 will do me.

I would like to take baxk roads from the town of L'Anse, but it looks lime wilderness, and there was a big rain, so I will take the 41/28 east.

    Liking the UP!

Ohh, and the roads in the north part of the county are great.

After you cross the BIG MAC bridge come down the West side of the state. The Lk. Michigan side is much prettier and more interesting. Right after you cross BIG MAC there is a town called Mackinac City. There is a great old fort there called Ft. Michillimackinac......Tour it! It is fascinating.

    ----
    Mental preperation.
    1. I do not need to second guess stopping at every gas station i see. Plenty around now.
    2. Days will be getting shorter once the bottum drops out of this tour.
    3. Contimplate going to Royal Oak to see a Marine i toured with. It is just north of Detroit:eek1

Will cross the bridge before the morning rush.
Will check out the Michillimackinac Fort in the morn.

After you leave the fort, go SW toward M-119, Cross Village then down to Traverse City . Take a little excursion up the Leelanau tip to Northport on M-22 and wind back down the coast on 22. It is a really pretty road that highlights Lk. MI life. In Ludington you can take Pere Marquette trail (rd) down to Pentwater. In Pentwater pick up B-15 co rd as it runs through the coastal villages and winds around the lake some more. Below Grand Rapids really gets busy again, so it is best to start cutting across mid Michigan above Grand Rapids over toward the center of the state. I am near Lansing if you do get over this way PM me.

Very good experience! The actor guides did well. Learned some solid colonial history.
You could spend all day there.

The light house was good to go.

    Thanks for the scouting report.

I am fixing to go into the Gaylord state forest area and camp.

In the morning , most likely will ride to East Jordan and go from there.

The 119 was a good ride from the bridge.
Wonderful country homes and homes over looking the Lake.

    Greetings.

I would be grateful if one of you'all pointed me in the right direction.

I am trying to network with an inmate in order to camp in their backyard by night, and visit Cedar Point by day.

Sunday the 27th of JULYnight would be a meet and great, and camp.
Monday morning would ride to park, and have fun, return in the early night to camp.
    Tuesday, repeat.

I may need another day in the park, but from what I havere searched, two should be good.

I looked into hotel /ticket packages, and the rooms are over $200 still

    --------
If it is not too much trouble, please point me toward the correct thread.
    -----
Also, if anyone knows some good urban stealth camping locations near Cedar Point, let me know. The MIGHTY DR and I are good to go with such enduavors.

    P.S.
My current tour has a trip pkanning thread for any advicd on touring tbrough.
I plan on riding through the eastern part of your state on my way back to Virginia. More hilly.

    Thanks for reading.

    Southern Traverse City.

Relax in East Bay Branch Library.

Later Do some physical training. I do about 20 mins at a time once a day, but took yesterday off.

Ride south on tbe 37 and camp in the Manistee National Forest.

The mksquoties are much easier to deal with since crossing over the bridge.
However, being back in Protestant country, I have to get used to busy cagers who cut you off just to make a few seconds before turning off a few blocks down the road.

Still debaiting on vjsiting Royal Oak and Detroit. Looks like there is some good history there.

Another great fort for you from the War of 1812 is Ft. Meigs in Maumee,OH.It is just S of Toledo and not far off the route up to Sandusky. BTW there is not a Cedar Point, OH..... It is in Sandusky, right on Lk. Erie.

Welcome back to the world of big traffic again.

Yesterday was a 221 mile day.
I was suprised how much the urban sprawl started west of Detroit.

I managed to get a great urban stealth camp location right off the 59 near Highland.

Nice comfy ground to further make soft.

Looking back at the highway. Plenty of vedge... for the edge

The Royal Oak contact did not pan out so i rode down to pre stage for Cedar Point.
Waiting for nex 7 to charge up and inmate to return PM.

The time of tbeweek is perfect to get the most out of Cedar Point.
The top five coasters are Maverick,*Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Raptor, and Magnum

I may be able to do these five in one day. 10:00-22:00.

I was able tk do Cedar Point. Great time!

I have to recover from a failed under the stars night out. I have gear to dry, and it is over cast.

I am thinking about visiting the Rock and roll hall of fame, but do not feel like paying the $25 fee, and parking.
I know it's only rock'n roll, but i like it, like it, yes I do.
But, I do not love it.:D

Once this overcast goes away, i will go to Lake wood park and dry out gear.

    Then touch Lake Erie.
    --------
Sbould camp in Cuyahoga Valley National Park or there abouts.
Then go from there. Kind of thinkinv of going to Gettiesburg battleground

The 75th day on a tour is a big date.

    Location
    Marrietta, OH

moral is good. DR is holding up well. The front and rear sprockets and chain at 17,500 miles are strong.

    The weather has been great!
Locals tell me it is not normal.

Plan of the evening. Skylark here in the Northwest musuem, and then ask to come back tomorrow . This three story is big. I could spend half a day here easy.

Being so close to home, I could end the tour quickly and be home in a couple of days.

I doubt i will make the original 90 days.
I think being home around August the first is respectable.

This evenkng i wil eat some local chow and walk around town a bit
So tonight i will steal away back into Wayne nati forest

Tomorrow i will come back to the mjsuem, and visit more of the town.

I may ride down the Ohio river before going into WV.

    FWIW.
I have a better understanding why northwesttern VA left in 1863. She has way more in common with southeastern Ohio, than the Shanandoha Valley (I-81 corriodor).
