American aisle prices may seem affordable/cheap, then you got to the counter.. I much prefer the European way of doing things.

I'm getting more intrigued by this scooter :-). Anyone know when it's supposed to arrive at U.S dealers?

Wow! Then why so little excitement on this thread? I know the AK isn't cheap (compared to most scooters), but, it seems to me to be a less expensive version of what could be considered the "ultimate scooter", the TMax, which we can't get in the U.S. But the AK we can get here, for the first time.

It's not a scooter I'm interested in getting so it's hard for me to get excited. I'm glad its here but disappointed in the boring colors its being offered in here. I also think it will only be offered here for one year because I don't see it selling without being heavily discounted.

I agree with you about the colors. I'm hoping one of them looks better in person. I'm also disappointed that the two colors offered (silver or grey) are so similar.

If this doesn't sell at $9K, then I see little to no chance that Yamaha will try again with the TMax at well over $10K ($11?, $15 for the tech version?).

I'm more interested in seeing their new ADV offering.

All depends on the state you live in.
Some a very cheap extra $ at the counter vs 20%++ automatic tax hit in the EU.

    Overall the US is cheaper.

It's looking like an adv inspired street look so far vs a true off road like the Honda.

I hope there's more that comes with the adv aspect, such as more legroom or some other useful feature, and not for the ridiculous ~25% premium that Honda wants for its adv 150 over the PCX version.

If I hadn't recently bought my Silverwing and outfitted it to suit me, I would be plopping down my money. It had been on my short list of new scooters ever since I first saw one a few years ago. If it doesn't sell well here and gets discounted, I will get rid of the Honda in a heartbeat, and even without a lot of dealer support, buy one.

From what I can see, the final prices are very similar. On the other hand, Europe has a far more comprehensive dealer support network for nearly all manufacturers plus the fact, many are sole manufacture dealerships/service shops which provide much higher quality of work and technical knowledge as they specialise in one range of bikes from a single brand.

That's about what I would expect for a 320cc scooter. Everyone has been asking for a 300ADV from Honda as an upgrade from the 150ADV but a Forza 300 based adventure scooter would probably weigh in close to this Kymco. I think a smaller displacement scooter weighing in at or under 300 pounds makes more sense for a scooter to be ridden off road. But, this is what everyone has been asking for. Let's see if it sells.

My '87 Yamaha Riva 200z at 250lbs is limited by the 10" wheels. If it gets stuck, just pick it up.

This thing weighs nearly the same as my Aprilia Atlantic 500 (450 curb).

I think that 200cc would be around the ideal size for an ADV scooter.
