Adventure Passes are required in Rose Valley. The ranger didn't ask for ours even though we said we were going to camp.

Jamin, let me know when you go to start this. It seems that I am soon to be an L owner and it doesn't have an oil cooler either and I want to add one.

$5 is just a day pass, i bought the yearly pass @ $30 and with option to buy a second pass for $5. lonestar and i ended up splitting the cost. good idea for those who plan to do more riding in the next 12 months. i believe it's good for angeles nf, cleveland nf, los padres nf, and san bernardino nf.

    My plain is this

Step 1. Get big chunk of aluminum.
Step 2. Cut out center with about 1/2 a quarts amount of space.
Step 3. Make caps for both sides with cooling fins cut into them.
Step 4. Bolt to to bike using a hammer duck tape and hope.
Step 5. Ride bike around real close to home for a few days.:lol3

I will let you know how it goes.

yeah, planning to get one. i foresee more travelling and camping for me in the next many years. lots of great places and national parks to see in ut, co, nm, mt, and neighboring states.

it's a common sight to see young europeans and old americans in national parks. need to go out while there's still some fire in me.

or have truck ready with ramp on the bed, and call wifey if needed.

can you use the oil cooler from the xr400?

A ranger I spoke recommends we stage inside Rose Valley Campgournd off Hwy 33. There's a small pond he said we meet at. Each truck will need an Adventure Pass. This staging ares is far closer to the trail head than any of these Park n Ride lots. Spafixer, do you agree?

BTW: Thanks for taking the time for the research and to supply all these links.

I did the same, but left the exhaust stock.

Is that Castrol m/c oil dino, semi syn, or full syn?

I use full syn Castrol Syntec (now labeled Edge) auto 10W-40 and the bike runs great!

An oil cooler will definitely help.
