I never said the 610SM was a bad bike! Just didn't care for the valve adjustment process and lack of a/m parts. I'm 170 lbs.

The SM and TE have the same chassis, engine, etc; just the suspension is shorter on the SM, and of course the wheels & brakes.

Riding my rejetted SM and XRL back to back many weekends for almost 2 years, my SM was staying parked in the garage, so I sold it back in March. After rejetting my XRL, it felt more powerful than my SM ever did.

The TE610 is a nice bike, don't get me wrong; my XRL just suits my all around "ride to"bike needs well.

Having said that, I do see a need for a rad "truck to" small bike! :D

Okay let me pull some options together.

I like the instruction but want to do it at one of our high-desert tracks and not in a parking lot somewhere.

I like the noob option since I'm still basically a n00b (even though I did McIver's Cabin and Mahogany Creek Trail - poorly).

As far as dates go, I'd like to do anywhere between late Oct and late Nov. One of these options were the days right after Thanksgiving, so that gives us an alternative for those not doing the LAB2V ride.

Gimme a bit more time though since I've been a travelling fool and need to simply put some time to it in between airports.

I'm off to Dallas today then San Francisco and Vancouver this week. Next week is Barcelona, Rome then Dusseldorf, Paris and London the week after.

Would a noobie on a big bike be welcome on this Oct 1 ride?
Yes & Yes. Their will most likely be other "big bike rides" on this ride. and their will be different route options. I'm hopping Cathy will join us and lead the big bike riders.

did someone say big bike n00b?

I got a pm and counseled accordingly. I will try and make this but I fly in from London the night before so I might not have the energy.

BTW, my post on the last page was meant for the track day thread. I'll move it there now.

    Must get more sleep.
