Don't forget to air down too. 20 lbs in the front and rear work very well for me on the GSA.

    Thanks for your support!

    I won.

I am a new product tester for NEMO Equipment Co. They're into mostly tents (no poles!) and sleeping pads now, but are developing a new line of sleeping bags and that's were I "fit" in. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot about that topic at upcoming rides. Unfortunately I'm not a paid shill for them; I just tend to geek out on this stuff.

Actually, their line of sleeping pads was more extensive than I thought; they have something like 16 pads across 5 different lines. Their technology and innovation seem to be superior to anything else I've seen out there too. They also do the horizontal beam contstruction that helps keep you from sliding off, but also get into memory foam, micro fiber washable liners, pillow beams, integrated foot pumps, dual inflation zones, big and tall sizes etc...

I'll have to talk them into getting us a little ADVrider discount, yeah?

    do it!!!

BTW the Big Agnes design there is no way to "slide off" your pad. the pad goes in your bag.:deal but the horizontal design is good. less spots for your shoulders/elbows/hips to hit the hard ground.

That's what I have right now too. Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree bag w/slide in air mattress. I like that it's big enough to roll over to change sides since I'm a side sleeper. I don't find the pad is thick enough so I bring my cheapo $10 Target twin inflateable mattress. And that turns out to be a heat sink, so I don't use it anymore for the really cold nights. Better just get a good pad that insulates AND supports.

What's the coldest temps you guys have experienced with your setup?

Randy from Wrightwood.... raining/hailing/thunder/lightning like crazy now.

upper 20's in a 2 man REI camp dome tent (top half is mesh).

key thing is to get down to your underwear. your skin needs to be against the bag to hold in the heat. if you wear a T shirt or layer up while in the bag your are defeating the purpose of what the bag is made to do.:deal

I'm in.... but camping over in "Hanna Flats". I'd like to meet up and ride to Pioneer Town.
I can meet up over at CrabFlats, or if the route is through Hanna Flats swing in.
