Got to ride one of my favorite scenic loops on Saturday that I used to drive regularly 30 years ago. It's North of Lake Cachuma and ends up around Neverland Ranch. Came home along the coast, checking out Solvang, my unrecognizable alma mater, Hope Ranch and Stearns Wharf along the way. Rode through Malibu just as the sun was going down. Amazing scenery all day long. No dirt on this ride but my intention was to go over Refugio and drop down to the beach.

Here's a link to my photos. They are from my Gopro so the are not great but you should be able to get the idea.

another beautiful day. noticed the GSA LC is getting more love than the SE.

the GoPro pics are clear and vivid. where is that beach access?

i bought the 7 before the noobs rally and to this day still learning how to use it. a month ago, run out of memory, then 2 weeks ago, batt died, last weekend, camera fell off the mount. something always going wrong.

i need a few 64 gig memory, battery charger and 2 spare batteries or camera plug in to a USB power supply.

Thanks Chu. Would have been fun to stop and say hi but wouldn’t have had time to hang out. Sounds fun though. More water in the lake than I have seen in a very long time.

I don’t want to take the SE off-road alone, and there aren’t many big bike rides that I’m in any shape to join. I’m just as happy these days riding scenic backroads.

I have all of the same issues with the GoPro, plus others.

If you’re referring to this beach access, this is right outside the dorms at UCSB. Goleta Beach is off in the distance. 708C2C31-F8B1-4310-8EF0-EB1E11D02179.jpeg

hope you find a group or at least a riding partner or ride solo - there are hundreds of gringos and friendly locals before, during and after the race. stay away from the remote or desolate trails.

watch your speed and don't ride at night.

    have fun.

let's plan on doing an overnighter central coast ride once it starts to get warm. late june and early july are good for me.

I want to ride Santiago Peak next week (6/8) in Orange County. It looks like Maple Springs Road is open! Anyone wanna join? I'm a slowpoke but worth the wait.

That sounds like my kind of ride. I'm a possible only depending on if I work or not.

This is true. Went up last weekend with strat10 and went left at the fork. Found a big mud pit that made me drop it. But should be dried up by next week hopefully.

That's correct. At the top of Maple, if you take a left you can make it to Corona by way of Bedford Truck Trail. You can go past Bedford all the way along the ridge, but you will have to back track out.
