I've never ridden up there - is this more suited to Dual-sport/ dirt bikes? Especially now that its likely gonna be muddy.....? I Ride a Tiger 800 ADV bike... wondering if thats too heavy, less-nimble of a ride.

Definitely more suited for a dual sport bike but the tiger can cruise the fire roads with no problems up there.

If you’re doing Rowher, start from Bouquet side. Easier hill climb.

Ended up riding the Crest this morning w a buddy - which reminded me of why I don't like riding the Crest on the weekends - two cars on two different parts of the 2 pulled out in front of me - thank god my bike has ABS.

With the cooler weather, I went there today for the first time to check it out with the KLR. The fire roads seem OK for big bikes and/or limited skils (i.e. mine!)

What ride is going on in Tahoe this weekend? Seen too many dual sports riding around today for there not to be something organized going on.

Had a very cool trip up to Bass Lake and the surrounding area with an old high school buddy this past weekend!! Weather was perfect - no too many other folks out and about so traffic was light!!!

First "big bike" ride in the books! From oc through Kraemer up Chimney Peak to Kennedy Meadows and Monache down 9 mile into Alabama Hills and finishing up in Panamint. Whew!. CBX was a champ!

Great pics @emmi I logged just over 700 miles in under 2 days.

    Highlights Included:
The weather was absolutely perfect all weekend ranging from low 50s at Kramer Junction to nearly 80 as we cruised up through Owens Valley. Upper 60s still up in Kennedy Meadows.
I nearly ran out of gas outside of Lone Pine (does anybody know if KTM has a limp mode if it senses low fuel?).
We witnessed a pretty serious accident on the 395 outside of Ridgecrest which if we were riding just a little bit faster, we would have been mixed up in.
Met up with @HBSURFDAD & @breakdirt916 at Kramer Junction before they headed out on some LAB2V Prep.
The Ranch House Cafe is closed for good per some locals (in Olancha). We stopped there for some lunch only to find it shuttered.

@Davethestick I've taken my 1090 to absolute fumes - dash showing 0 miles range for a good 5-10 miles or so - and it didn't "limp". She'll keeping chugging along until the tank is dry.

The good news is the computer is conservative. Once it says you're empty, you've still got some mileage left before you're really out.

The "Halfrica Twin" never consumed more than 2.8 of it's 4.5 gallon tank between the gas stops :D. Smol bike win! lol

Thanks! It's the Icon Variant helmet. Pretty light, comfy and quiet while having good highway aero. 20191023_005527.jpg
