That Rowher truck trail has really got much harder after all the rain recently. Even going down is difficult now.

after old coast road down pch then up naciemento-fergusson to the crossroads. i wasnt sure if i should leave pavement by myself again. then the sound of a bike coming from the opposite direction. another loner so we decided to go together. we missed a turn and it was a little scary. a couple hours turned into at least 4. higher and wetter, the sun lower IMG_20200205_173300925_MP.jpg IMG_20200205_173241254_HDR.jpg IMG_20200205_172246.jpg IMG_20200205_161615337_HDR.jpg IMG_20200205_172311.jpg IMG_20200205_151514225_HDR.jpg and both of us with street tires.

Stopped to take a peak at the Trona Pinnacles Saturday on my way to Death Valley. Got there there just as the sun was setting and the moon was out. Made for a nice picture. E3C1718C-8201-4D13-999F-B7A58BD8F39B.jpeg

I’m in LA for the weekend visiting my sister, and am wondering if there is any show or Event or shop I should visit while in town.
Sadly I don’t have my two wheeled machines with.

Yes! Go to Riverside BMW Motorcycles Saturday and see the premiere of the NE BDR movie. Get there at 3 p.m. for lite food and beverages and then the movie will start at 4 p.m.

I saw the CA BDR movie twice and it was excellent. I really enjoyed it. Many riders on advrider.com have ridden the whole California route.

Here's the trailer for the movie:

You need to make a reservation to see the movie. Go to ridebdr.com, click on events and scroll down to Film Premieres. Click on the Riverside BMW box. I think you can figure it out from there. Or you can call Riverside BMW Motorcycles to make your reservation.

    Enjoy!

What KTMrider36 said, that is if your on the west side (coastal areas by Malibu) or if you wanna drive through the mountains, scenic roads north of L.A. there Newcombs Ranch (up HWY 2) , another popular spot for lots of bikes and sports cars on the weekends, best in the mid morning hours - you can get breakfast or lunch there too... might even spot Jay Leno with one of his exotic toys. Pro Italia motorcycle shop at the base of the mountains in Montrose if you wanna see fancy Italian motorcycles....

Don't go to Riverside BMW! That may wind up being the most expensive movie you have ever seen:D. But if you do go there and resist the sirens luring you to financial doom, also go across the street to Malcolm Smith's - they've got a museum of a bunch of his race bikes upstairs and that won't cost anything.

Thanks guys! Those are great suggestions and I think I will be doing them in the future as my sister lives out there. I ended up just making a stop at deus and hero motorcycles. I had the ladies with so couldn’t make it too hard core of an outing. They don’t last very long in the motorcycle scene. On the bright side my brother is considering getting in to the adventure motorcycling and we have our eyes on the Southern California BDR this summer!

Decided to do an overnight dirt ride to Coyote Cals to dial in my 690r. Meeting at Tecate gate around 830 Saturday morning. So far just Dunc289 and me. I could use some fresh tracks as my old ones led my to some gates last time on the return trip so ended up backtracking to Compadre Tr.
