tracks change every year but there is only so many combinations that the BLM will allow a large organized ride like LAB2V.
some of this year was similar to 2012.
some of 2013 was similar to 2009.
there's only so much 'Singletrack' in the desert. everything gets blown out by quads and side by sides.

the BLM does nothing to protect single Track.

There are a couple in Freemont Peak and Gravel Hills where they can (haven't) gotten thru.

There was old horse race trail leading to Manly Pass that we used. Jeepers from Panamint Valley days came in with hammers and widened a rock gap and had their event. Trashed it now BLM has closed it.

Only place where Single Track is protected is in the El Passo Mts where Friends of Jawbone and I put up choke gates to keep quads out.

In south western Utah there is a trail (the Paiute Trail) that is extremely well managed. There are gates for specific widths of vehicles everywhere (even for razors vs. quads). Too bad we don't have that here (but also it's almost impossible there to go around a gate due to the terrain and trees, desert would be much harder to prevent go arounds)

I am so sick of our desert getting trashed. At this point I'd rather have moron damaged areas closed than degradation to continue.

Please folks, stay on the trails, watch out for wildlife/plantlife and don't speed! I want to continue to be able to ride in my favorite places and see beautiful open desert, not tracks and trash and historical areas destroyed. And ride LAB2V which I've had to bail on 3 years in a row due to injury or family stuff. Argh!!!!!

    (sorry, just had to vent.....)

I seen a hodaka as well, in fact it might have been with you????

I meet up with a guy riding a 610 in Sandy Valley while eating lunch. I was on a ktm 500 and my friend was on a wr. I had no navigation, was that you that showed us the way to red rock?

That was me! Ken got nervous and got off the freeway early and we rode the street to the Orleans. The gps thingy didn't work so great for Ken. When I got home Sunday night I looked threw the roll chart and that looks like the best bet for me. My buddy Ken was so confident with his gps skills I figured I didn't need anything. I know the area pretty well so I knew I couldn't get lost if an emergency happened.

I was hoping to see you at the banquet, I ended up seeing a old friend and hanging out with him. By the time I went to the banquet, I wasn't seeing real clear anyways

I remember seeing you and your Husky as well. I hope I did not get in your way at any point. With only 6 inches of travel in my massive 30mm forks, I had a tendency to weave around the trail a bit looking for the smoothest line! Still, I tried to keep up a reasonable pace and moved to the side when I noticed other riders wanting to get by.

Cool old Super Rat. I have both a '74 Super Rat and Super Combat that I still race in AHRMA events. The next time I am out there for an event, I will PM you to see if you are still serious about riding an old Hodaka across the desert!

image.jpeg This was my 5 th la - Vegas ride . Haven't done the last 2, but it's sad to see that every year we loose more and more areas to ride for one reason or the other.

Thanks to all the organizers that made this ride memorable.

    Here are some pictutes taken.
