Excellent ride yesterday! Dropped it on the downhill just before Ridgecrest but other than that no issues. Got a late start due to loooong line at sign in. Then my riding partner's (son) bike failed to start. He spent the day chasing the problem with no luck. I'm bailing on today to spend time with him. I think yesterday was the longest first day I've been on, this was my third time.

I show up to tech at 5am one of the first in line. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, I helped Julie set up orange cones, helped unload the trailer to bring all the supply's into sign ups, I even helped to raise the E-Zup.

Point is, if you see something that needs to be done just ask what you can do. We had several riders in full riding gear pushing hand trucks with boxes of sign up material.

I think we had tech inspection up and running by 5:30am.

I rode with Dunerat both days other than one front flat nothing much else to report.

I thought last year was good but this year was even better (rode my own bike). Early starts both days made all the difference although a lot of people started early on day two. Loved the hard way that dumped you out at the Husky monument, wasn't expecting that.

I believe the hard right hill climb from Lovell Canyon road leading to Rocky Gap was to weed the riffraff out of the canyon as were the two LV LEO's at the start of the canyon rd...well played, course designer!

Thanks all for putting an incredible ride together! I'm looking forward for next year. Maybe, just maybe, I won't be bringing my 1200 again :/

Question that may have been answered: Are the photos (from the photo-opp spots) going to be uploaded on Grumpy's website? Or is there another place where I can see them? (sorry - 1st timer).

Thank for the detailed roll chart! I was on an 800GSA and it made all the difference when you guys pointed out when to fold em vs hold em on the trail. Holy Hill climb after lunch on day 2!

I couldn't make it this year. After i canceled my hotel rooms, i had a pity party and ended up ordering a ktm 525 cylinder kit for my 450 exc. Plans are in the works already for next years ride.

Was a great first time ride of the LAB2V!! (and my first official dual sport ride.)

Thank you to all the volunteers and also RAZR, with this forum to successfully help prepare a first time rider!
Day 1 All hard ways, was great and loved the ST section headed to the Husky Monument.
Day 2 Thought the route was great and the terrain varied nicely! a major navigational error, caused us to miss the cutoff time entering Red Rock Canyon, so we missed that. (I learned my lesson and will better coordinate the GPS routes with the Roll Chart data, the night before.) And lunch earlier, or a much bigger snack mid morning would have helped with the "energy mgmt" of our group.

Since I missed the best part, Red Rock, guess we'll just have to do it again next year :-)

Anyway to have the rider check in for day 1 the night before? (would for sure help get the riders last name L-R, start the ride much sooner.) Although we had plenty of time on day 1.

Great ride ... rode solo this year and kept a fast steady pace only taking breaks at gas stops. 532 miles on the clock for both days. The new 500 was amazing and made it almost easy.
