I'm leaning towards getting some K60's Good enough to handle the round trip and not need immediate replacement on return and seem to be aggressive enough that it wont go sliding everywhere offroad...

Those K60's are hard as a rock-but they do wear like iron.

So froze coming up, going to freeze tomorrow going home... But damn i love colorado... BTW the K60 rear is having the center knobs tear going to the Albuquerque cycle gear on the way back to swap the rear with another tire hoping they warranty it... You running race fuel in that thing? I couldn't rip a Shinko 244 like that with my DR650.
Highway heat is tough on tires.

I think Das Ficker would throw her rod if I tried that.... But I was within the load and speed limits of the tires... Just got back and my work is cut out... High altitude (and treaking it like a true DS on the trail) blew my fork seals... Think one of the airbox screws fell out again (feels like its running rich), gotta clean the CO dirt off... Time for another Oil change, Brakes feel like they got air in the tube (should I delete the ABS?) think it is time for chain and sprockets... Bunch of little things... BTW... I am never doing that kind of trip again... Must be nice to be old and retired with no time limit...

You got the wrong hombre. Been busting knuckles for 46 years and have a couple more to go.
After my wife's health issue free time has been hard to come by.
Get out and go while your single. One day your gonna get some gal drunk and pregnant. No more long bike trips.

After finding a set of adv tires that won't fly apart on me we have to ride again... Taking the bike up some trails has be getting confident in it going off the pavement some more. Thinking of either true Dakar forks for it or some inverted YZ forks.

The bike needs a bunch of little things again. Probably going to replace the water pump seals and shaft as it started to drip from the weep hole and the rotax engine is known to eat the water pump shaft. What tires are you guys having luck with? My Anakee 3s were great but i would like to get on dirt more often. So far the K60s seem to fly apart on me. The d606s are the same (can't blame them i had no choice but to run one from Albuquerque to home and lost a few knobs) I'm kind of irritated that finding the right tires are such a pain. I may just get some Shinko 805s and not care... But I'm really thinking of getting done YZ forks to go on her and raising the rear to match... She should run circles around DR650s off-road then and keep up with a DRZ400.
