Welcome to the party. I'm over in Central. I'll post on here next time the weather and my schedule line up for a ride up through the Franni/Felicianas/Adams Co. areas.

It should be fun to ride if you decide to restore it.

Moving out on a working restore on the YZ465... Getting Kicker, and airbox in the mail after the holiday then gotta get the rear fender support fabricated... Also picking up a YZ250 that was cutting out and had a slight knock but it is coming with a Lectron carb! If only I could find street legal projects... That TTR225 is finally almost done down to a few minor tweaks required for it... Meanwhile debating if I should brave the cold in the AM for a ride around the lake...

I would restore it for vintage use. Zero hesitation. Make a trip to Diamond Don's vintage meet in Jefferson, TX in April, you will be blown away if you have never attended, World class gathering! Google is your friend.

Anyone done/seen/heard of the louisiana rail trail?

    https://www.traillink.com/trail/louisiana-trails---jamestown-to-winnfield/

Came across id while mapping out a dirt road route from my hood through the Winn district to the east side Catahoula district of Kisatchie. Made a gpx of it in case anyone wanted to see the extents, looks like you can't upload .kml files here...

I'm not sure if it is all public access.....

Looking at the reviews it looks like the Side by Sides have made some very deep holes on this trail that may not be good for Dual Sport riding. I would be up to riding along if you wanted to try it though.

Anyone need an airbox for an 82' yz250... Turns out it's not going to work for my yz465 and got the proper one. But after paying for return shipping I'm not going to get anything for it so it's here if anyone needs it.

Sounds like a winner. I'll post up here when I'm planning on heading down, if it ever stops raining. I'm located near ruston, and would probably pick up the trail in the national forest if possible. I'm sure the trail is bombed ou tnear the towns from all the sxs action. I'll be on an XRR.

Anyone know (or who are good at it themselves) someone that repairs moto gear? My Klim Traverse pants had something hook into my open vent and tore the corner back about 1 1/2" and popped the zipper apart... Would love to repair this vs. the $300 for new ones...

Find a good alterations shop, alot will tell you no they aren't touching it but eventually someone will. I had a pair of Switchbacks that were too long maybe 6 shops said nope no way because of the zipper and I wanted to retain the cinch strap. Finally found one that did.

Quoting this from the Mississippi riders thread. I have been on several of these rides following 990 trailblazer. They are always fun.

Going to ride St. Franni area tomorrow. After all the rain we got this week, the dirt (mud) may be a bit too sloppy for my current tires so I'll play it by feel and stick to tarmac if necessary. Possibly ride levee roads back down from Vidalia depending on what the time/road conditions dictate.

Any and all takers are welcome to join. Will gas up at the Southern Belle Truck Stop around 8:00AM. Kickstands up from there at 8:15. Likely stop for lunch somewhere.
