Hey guys, Here is the revised file, Dwight to Pine springs/Hwy 35 for everyone's info. Not sure of the route back once we get to PS/35, where to now??? :huh So if anybody has any suggestions, please help us out.
Robbie, wont be a killer day, after spending 2 hours washing my bike today after last weekend, i dont care to see anymore mud for a while. vc
After pinesprings and 35 we will turn left and ride north approximatly 15kms to gooselk trail, north on goose lktrail which is part of the old bobcagion road to lookout atop a hill with better observation then the dorset tower. can stop there as well, then back to rapids road.
You washed your bike? Ohhhhhh, your one of THOSE BMW riders.... Is this the tower in Dorset you speak of?
UBER....GPS GURU!!! Not coming.....:eek1 Now we're gonna end up in James Bay or something.....Don't think one uf us can read a GPS yet :huh Well, Have a great trip, we'll think of ya on the trail......
Vcrash, We doin' this ride rain or shine? Weatherman could change his mind by then, but it's sayin rain for now. I don't mind the rain either way, could make things very interesting . Got the helmetcam all set up this weekend, ready to film the mud slinging .
You guys are in good hands.... Vcrash is the man, MAN!!!! Dood is an excellent rider and pretty damn good on his GPS as well! - Speaking of which... I have a few things to learn from him. Dean was explaining how he uses forestry and Ministry 'paper' maps to determin his routes - that's old skool baby!!!!.....
vcrash, could you post up some times for us ie departure. I am bustin my hump to make this one happen but have much planning. I may leave late Friday night but if it's a rain fest I will likely throw my kit in the truck and crash in RobbieO's driveway. A 400 on the 400 could be a little crazy late on a Friday night. RobbieO get that GPS charged and ready. It looks like coolwife has taken the bait and I'm getting a "Ticket to Ride".
Uber, your putting to much on my shoulders. You just havnt seen one of my usually catastrophic crashes yet!! i think we likely should try to leave before 10;00 a.m. to complete the whole route, the rain if it happends shouldnt slow us down much cause we wont be stopping as much and theres lots of shelters and warm spots to stop if needed. I may have to make a small route change in between oxtongue and troutspawn as ive heard a bridge is out. we may have to ride up to the algonquin park boundary and go in from there, If my new rear tire comes in by tommorow i will ride up and check. Dean Toronto airport to my house is 2 hours and 15 minutes non stop
Instead of parking in Robbies driveway why dont you drive straight here and stay at my place, lots a room.
Looks like I'm probably going to be a puttin mine in the back of the pickup and heading up Sat morn. Saving my energy for the ride Leaving my place (Brampton) at about 7am. Got room for one more (full size GMC) if anybody wants to do the same.
Are you coming back to town apres' ride or staying North for post ride pain killers and bench racing? I am interested in this scenario and if there are more riders from the south I have a trailer that could be called into service.
Will be coming home after the ride but not in any rush, relaxing with a couple cold ones after a long ride sounds like a great idea. I got a cooler.....
this COMPLETELY sucks, but kahoonwife reminded me of a wedding we are attending saturday afternoon i really hope you guys are planning more of these in the future? i was also planning on finding a trailer ro something. my HP2's rear tire wont be able to handle the 500km of tarmac (roundtrip) to lake of the bays.
Not to worry Kahoon, I normally truck up as well. Sometimes trailer other times I've got at least a truck with 2 spots. Kind of a mute point if you ever expect to speak with your wife again in this case.
thanks buddy and i ain't missing the next one! i'll also see if my buddy (on an X-challenge) will join in the future as well, he's got a 2 bike trailer also... cheers!
