Lake Superior Lap again.. fall ride

    well I just had to see what the Lake Superior Lap lookd like last weekend, so me and a good long time buddy loaded up on the GS and he took the weestrom for a run....a greta ride and fun time....weather was mostly good, until th end where 400 miles of nasty cold rain...but fun anyway...

    here come some pics...they say enough...

    welcome to Duluth / Superior....gonna hit the Aorestitch store....

    just south of Grand Portage and still not much fall color....but wait..

    nice big railroad trestle as we head into Sleeping Giant Provincial PArk...thru some cool stuff..Pass Lake....

    the bikes were great and well matched....

    this town ..Silver Islet is a nice secret sleeper....time forgot this place

    an intersting time here in the mid/late 1800's....and the small homes still exist and have been handed down the generations...the locals tell me it is near impossible to buy here..

    so we rolled back out and stopped at a little cafe for coffee...and the bikes int he lot lured these 2 fine folks in...a nice conversation...Hello Heide & Art!....

    The tin can tourists travelling in this....a great old machine....why do we complicate life anyway?

    had to check out Ouimet Canyon this time of year..

    then we had to lay up some miles....Nippigon to Wawa on 17....nice stuff...big moose....360 kms....3.5 hrs with fuel stop....EXCELLENT road and ride!

    well we finished our remnants of our bottle of Black Bush that night

    we met 4 guys ona ride with a mixed bag of bikes...including this one...ride safe guys..

    I bought the weestrom from the flea market here.....all decked out...under 4 k miles....and a nice dl1000 seat...heated grips and extra outlets....yeah Chad I am happy with the purchase....no secret it was here....6500

    And remember folks, nothing to see on the Michigan leg. Get on US 2 and hurry to the WI border. Move along, and for your sweet mamma's sake, stay south of M-28 lest you get eaten by wolves.

    Nice report, great pictures. Did you see the big Canadian Goose in Wawa? That should have been the highlight of the trip.

    Yeah, the U.P. is terrible for any outdoor activities, don't go there if you can help it. :nod

    of course the big honker in Wawa was THE highlight....LOL....

    yes stay away for the U.P.....there are cannibals there....be careful and stay away...you have been warned:D

    I hope the 4 guys we met in Wawa at Lakeview Hotel on the mixed bag of bikes made it back to Marquette today...they had alot of ride in front of them....
