I had a chance to ride the LBL 200 down in western Kentucky this weekend.
This ride has been around since 1987, organized and hosted by a local family.

I first rode the event in 1989. I still have the Tshirt

The ride has been very popular the last few years and the 275 rider limit fills up quickly.
Ride headquarters is Piney Campground at the south end of LBL
I had a really nice spot overlooking the lake

The ride is very organized and marked very well. They provide roll charts but they are not really necessary.
Lunch on the trail Saturday and Sunday with Dinner Saturday night.
The reason the ride is so popular is because of the long sections of trail and primo single track.
    Lots of this

Both days you ride the same section of trail to gas stop #1 and back to the campground after gas stop #2.
The good news is it's a great trail.
So there is a "Saturday only" section and a "Sunday only" section.
    Plenty of trail sections

Some nice gravel and paved sections mixed in

The trail also has some nice lake views

And quite a few bridges. This is one of the nicer ones.

    About 130 miles on Saturday.
There must have been a lot of tired body's on Sunday. I estimated about 50% participation.
The Sunday only section was a little more difficult than Saturday.
A little tighter, a few more steep rocky sections and a lot of roots

Also some off camber sections around the lake.

    About 95 miles on Sunday
Overall it's a great ride. Not to difficult but fun.
I highly recommend it if you get a chance to ride the LBL 200.
And it's hard to beat a sunset on Kentucky Lake
