Thanks Cluedog ! Did the HD get completed ? If so you really should do a thread you have more talent than most of us hackers !

Octane I know, small sidecar body rules out much dog or no sometime woman friend passenger, in the last 7 years I think I can count the times I've driven a rig without Justin on one hand. Maybe headed to a Wheaten which may help avoid the many mini Schnauzer health issues.

Yep, but as you know German dogs have more dignity than all the others put together.
On the other hand maybe being Irish he'll be well read :-)

    Thanks Dave
The Hardly is running and exceeding my hopes.
I'm thinking of a build thread and maybe the path I took
The evolution of a hackster, it might help some that are just starting the road

If you are looking at purebreds think about an Airedale as well. Middle ground between a large dog you mentioned earlier and a Wheaten. Pretty healthy breed, smart and trainable.
Have you ruled out looking in the local shelters? Might be hard pressed to come away empty handed if you do.

So far most of my dog search has been rescues and shelters up here the shelters are full of Lab crosses and the various varieties of Pit Bull or Staffordshire terriers.
I'd like an Airedale, the Wheatens in a private home and I'm trying to figure why they want him to move on.
[IMG] The Kaiser was a rescue dog akc champion with champion sons apparently he and the little old lady who raised him and he had a falling out cost him his equipment and his happy home, he was adopted and returned twice.

Adopted and returned twice? Sounds like he is a difficult dog. With social problems. And maybe a bad temper.

    Match made in Heaven! :lol3

The said perfect come and get this little gray dog, he even came with a letter of warning from the little old lady who said : He knows what a flyswatter is for and don't be afraid to tune him up ! :-)

DB, if you pick a different breed and you need your ubermensch dog fix just take a ride up the river to my place, i got 2 mini schnauzers you can "borrow" anytime. If i ever get around to building my KLR rig one of em will be out with me this summer for sure going around in your neck of the woods.

The Scream by Edvard Munch sums up my thoughts today !
Trying to adopt a schnauzer from and out of state rescue agency is very frustrating , I can't believe I think I've been turned down 6-7 times already I have money and I'm willing to travel and interview and can't get to first base WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May have to start looking for just a dog ! Actually there was a Aussie cattle dog terrier (usually brave) but the rescue folks said he was anxious riding in an auto.

Dog dammit I miss that little dog I probably have't driven a sidecar 10 times in 7 years without his council !

I don’t have any advise for adopting a shelter dog but good luck. I’m sure everything in the end will be good.
