well, well. the Key West thing is out for the closed t-day week at work. Too much damn holiday traffic on I-95. :puke1

so it's off to ride the BRP next Monday. I'm missing a section between Asheville, NC and Low Gap, VA just to the S of Galax.

so far the weather is so-so. planning on leaving Monday around 11, forecast 30% scattered showers in the upper 40's all the way to the VA /TN line. Then it changes to scattered rain and snow showers. highs mid 40's. I will stop in Johnson City, TN that night.

Tuesday, early, is scattered snow showers (20%) from Johnson City, TN over the mountains to Asheville, NC. Where it's going to be 50's and partly cloudy. That means 40's and partly cloudy on the BRP. which means partly damp. :scratch

Hey, SprintRS!!! want to go for a ride??? meet me in Asheville at the Alt-25 entrance to the BRP Tuesday around 9:30am?? :D :thumb

I was watching the weather and wondering if you were freezing your butt off. I picked up the flu so I haven't done shit since last Friday.

If I can get rid of family I might try to swing down for the Sunday ride.

I'll second the sick as a dog bit. Damn sinus infection has me snotting out bits that could double as wallpaper paste.

I'm hankering for an assault on Spruce Knob for Sunday..
8" of fresh **** snowflakes should make for a good stomping grounds for the KTM.. TwistedSchwester might haul his disgraceful mug out for some KLR bashing as well..

I hopped on the BRP at Blowing Rock at 10 am 60 degrees. never once saw a law dog all the way to VA 43 just S of the Peaks of Otter :D

60 to 75mph all 200 + miles and some streatches even faster :thumb what a great ride!!!!

when I dropped off to the slab it was all screwed up. it got cold, the holiday traffic was out and I had forgot my damn long johns for the legs. But freak-wife had told me it was snowing and I didn't want to get stuck in a damn fleabag hotel that close to home. glad I was on the bike to get around the damn traffic. I'm sure I pissed a few off :lol1

now, I'm only missing the BRP section from Blowing Rock to Asheville, looks like a good excuse for a early spring trip :D

The restaurant Rick mentioned was closed for the season. The Hill-Top restaurant in Hillsville has good chile !!
