I saw a fat tired bike at REI n thought about a saw engine but your build will have the right appearance when done.

    What class?
I would love to chase a record at Bonneville.
That bike looks about as fast as I would want to go :D

Kinda like being an Olympic Champion for speed walking

I have a carbide lamp. I was all ready to ship it to you as I was reading the thread but I had visions of you dropping carbide in it and adjusting the water flow to have a questionably dangerous and otherwise shitty light source on the front of a questionably dangerous motorcycle... not cutting the shit out of it.

Ha ha, no, definitely cut the shit out of it! And don't worry, night time riding is not my forte, not while England still has pubs.
I may get a crime scene copy from China for £60, cheaper than a carbide number and probably from the same factory as Crime scene and Roland sands, just sold out the back door.

    s-l500.jpg

Or this one maybe, £20 cheaper and scalloped...maybe gold plate the grill.

A couple more parts. I won't get going properly for a while, this has to last the winter so I'm just collecting parts really.
A gas cap from a boat should work well and a couple of NOS wheel nuts.

Nothing as nice as yours Wildebeest but I just rediscovered these photos of mine, maybe a bit of homebuilt inspiration.
There were no details with this tiny little bike, not sure if it ever ran or was 'garage art', looks like a 50-125cc two stroke?
