Hard to get excited this year.

    No Froomy or G.

    Team numbers reduced.

Will they be able to pull it off ?

There is a Tour this year? I haven't been paying attention, just figured it was all cancelled.

Going to be hard to ride those mountains with a mask and six feet of separation. There will be no rest, the strongest surely will prevail.

I've seen in passing a few references to riders upset with the Covid-19 testing rules or some such.

    Riders list for Le Tour

Coverage for streaming is NBCSN Gold cycling pass or Flobikes. Flobikes is cheaper and month to month.
I forgot to turn off my auto renew for NBCSN so, yes, I paid for that again. :baldy

I figure I'll stream part of the stage off my laptop to the monitor and ride my trainer controlled off the phone. We'll see how that goes.:muutt

The shortened Criterium du Dauphine was pretty entertaining. Come on Sepp!

Kinomap has a playlist of routes for the Tour. I'll give it a try tomorrow. I predict I finish well behind the crowd of others doing similar and in a pool of soggy kit.

You have got to be kidding !?!?
Watching Gomer ride a bike is about as exciting as watching paint dry. It would be insufferable for me to watch him win another Tour.
Actually, I take back the part about watching him ride a bike... it is kind of exciting to see how much time he spends looking at his stem and not where he's going... it's like watching a high-speed-chase... you know he's got to crash eventually.
There hasn't been anyone as boring to watch since Miguel Endurain. Froome fans love recount those exciting Froome moments, like that time he did the downhill breakaway, ... and... well... that was the only time in his entire career that he did anything exciting.
Combine this with the fact that he is a cheat and rides for Team Death Star... who has almost double the budget of the 2nd richest team.

On a serious note, bike racing and especially TDF, is more exciting when there is more competition, a level playing field, less dominate teams and riders, and more uncertainty... that's TDF 2020. It's gonna be great.

As to "Will they be able to pull it off?" Yes, we are well into the bike racing season in Europe. They've already been pulling it off.

Disclaimer: enduro0125 - Please take my comments in jest. Yeah, I really do dislike Gomer... but I mean no disrespect to you.

I meant not much excitement due to other things going on in the world.
Not Froomey or G to be the reason.

I guess I need to move the second sentence down.

It'll be a good distraction. At this point in the COVID lock-down, I've already burned through everything I really care to watch on Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Speaking of which, if you haven't already seen them... "All for One" is a great documentary on Team Mitchelton Scott. Basically it's an uplifting story of what a team of underdogs can accomplish if they work together... and then there's the counter-point series "The Least Expected Day"... the story of a team (Movistar) of all-stars who struggle to work together as a team.

Lots of WTF here. No prologue and starting with a long climbing stage! Tons of crashes so far. Typically they start off slow and do not get into the mountains until the 4th or 5th day. Tomorrow is a mountain stage. I predict lots of dropouts this year, aside from the Covid tests.

I thought it was darn good bike handling skills to stay upright.

Astana showed its colors but karma stepped in.
