    Hi Guys

My wife and I are riding through Africa on our BMW R80GS. My third gearbox is now leaking into the paralever. Not a big issue as I just top it up every few 100km and dump the oil that accumulated in the swingarm somewhere eco friendly.
We are strong considering shipping the bike to South America from Cape Town and finishing up with an intense tour over there. Does anyone know a mechanic in South Africa, preferable Cape Town who could pull/change the rear seal of the gearbox?

    Thanks

I no longer have his address but there was a chap called Altus Pienaar in Cape Town who is an airhead GS enthusiast and could either help or point you to someone who can, if you do Facebook look him up on there.

FYI All I've made contact with Altus who helped me via Whatsapp to diagnose the issue further. Looks like it's "just" the seal and no bearing issues. Heading off to Tanzania tomorrow, wish us look.

    Cheers
