I have to find BMW shop or lock smith, I went to lock the top box and the guts of the lock came out with the key...
I was able to fix the lock in Fargo at a locksmith, lock is a bit cheap in its design but it will keep an honest person honest...
Made it from Fargo to Saskatoon (672), then Saskatoon to Dawson Creek (683), Dawson Creek to Watson Lake today. So far I have clicked off about 3,000 miles.

Only issue thus far is that I stopped to take a photo in Onoway and a very strong wind burst came from a storm that was blowing in and blew my bike over, broke a mirror off and bruised my pride but that’s all...

I agree with this advice. I rode both last year on my Alaska trip and the experience was wonderful on both roads, but each had totally different weather during my trip. The Dalton ended up being completely dry and sunny which made for a relatively relaxed run up to Deadhorse. My Dempster journey started off dry up to Eagle Creek, then was wet, slippery and sloppy half of second day; but then dried up. Camped in Inuvik and then took a short day trip up to Tuk. It was dry gravel...although deep gravel in places. Now, my return trip south down the Dempster was a different story...it was cold, wet, rainy/foggy and very slow going. Saw at least two vehicles slid off the road due to slippery mud.
Truth be told, even though at the time it was cold, slow going, and sometimes miserable on the Dempster, as compared to Dalton (for my trip that is), I look back on the Dempster journey with fonder, deeper memories. My point is, the weather will have a strong influence on the experience in my opinion. Just depends what you want and how much time you have. (Btw...when I say the Dempster was slippery in sections...I mean damn near close to ice as it was wet clay in spots)
Just curious, looking at your bike it looks almost the same color as the road you are riding. How difficult is it to get that muck off? My XCX is 2 years old but near pristine condition.
If you're worried about keeping your motorcycle pristine, you shouldn't go near Canada or Alaska dirt roads if it's raining...short of major disassembly and days of OCD scrubbing, you'll never get all the gunk off.
The calcium chloride used on those roads leaves a white film that defies any soap or cleaner...only hand wiping every square inch will remove it...
I've made 3 trips over the last 5 years on my 1190 and despite using aircraft anti-corrosion spray before the ride it is a long way from pristine despite multiple washes.

Wow what an amazing trip... Unfortunately I fell behind in my postings and couldn’t figure out how to catch up but I’ll start posting some new photos.
Stayed at a great B&B at Watson Lake where I started my day with my coffee on the waters edge.
Then I rode to the sign post Forrest and posted my sign.
Stopped in Whitehorse and enjoyed the museums and had my Wilds installed that I had staged there. The guys at Whitehorse Honda were awesome! Thanks guys!!
