Bought a LED indicator kit from KTM for my 09 KTM 990 Adv. The instructions in package very simple and clear but the replacement relay they supply in kit does not fit. Any one that can help?

it must be an IC relay and should have three wires just like the stock.

Yes you need a different flasher unit designed for LED indicators. Lots on Ebay, buy one and change the connectors on the loom.
Stock only has 2 wires, feed in and the out goes to the indicator switch. The dash repeater works by using the non illuminated lamp for a ground path. This causes an issue with LED indicators so you have to be creative by using a pair of diodes to feed the repeater and ground the other side of the repeater or mess about with resistors in parallel with the indicators or buy a different style flasher unit.

I believe that the 2009 onward have the flasher relay built into the hazard light button assembly and therefore no special LED flasher relay will work for these later models. You will need to fit resistors to each indicator. Apparently you can buy resistors with the KTM plugs so is just a plug and play senario.

I have just fitted a LED relay to my 07, it is a 2 wire unit off ebay that came with a 3 pin plug. I removed the pins from the plug and pushed them into a 2 position plug (off ebay) and it worked and fitted perfectly.

I just checked that number and some listings say it fits all models of 990 Adv.

I have a 2012 990 as well, and I cant find any blinker relay on my bike, which is also confirmed by my wiring diagram.
Can anyone with a 09 onward ADV confirm their bike actually has a blinker relay, I dont believe they do unless USA model bikes dont have hazard flashers?

But the part number does not pull up as a valid part number in the KTM USA parts system, only other countries. I guess we have to order from the UK???

The reason I went to LEDs was to reduce the size of the physical blinker as I kept wiping out the front units on shrubs, Im not sure these KTM ones are much smaller than stock.

My whole set up was less than $40 I think off ebay. I did have to rob the plugs off the the std blinkers and solder them on to the ebay units.

Thank you every one for the feedback. Fitted kit to bike but need to fit resistors. Believe relay in kit is for 1190, LED's looks good on bike though!
