C'mon, theres LOTS to joke about! Sheesh, your not gonna put me in the position where I have to make fun of MY OWN bike, are ya?!?

In this particular case, it would be easier to prep for ice than the CBR. Probably a lot more fun, too. Now, to find a set of studs.....(for the tires, ya wierdo's!)

Skinner, I can't believe you talked him out of the F3 so fast!! I would have showed up for that, dislocated shoulder and all. :D

F3, F3, F3! comon BDMF!:D Actually, it would probably rip the screws out in one twist of the wrist.

I wish I could go but I am a firm believer in recovery time. I'm no MotoJoe or Skinner :cry

you can get ice screws at Nielsons....

Yeah. Dispite the fact that our reception hall burnt down last Sunday, we are still getting married.

Are you still riding down?? We found a new reception hall.

    skadamo,

Thanks for the tip on Nielsons! I'll call them this week.
As for the F3, well, I already have a trashed set of bodywork for it, no one said the F3 was out of the picture! :D Got to check the clearences on the forks and swingarm to see if studs will fit. I'm thinking of lining the inside of the tiers with an old innertube, then fitting a tube inside of the tire. I just havent figured out yet what tube will fit a 170 section rear tire. Oh, and the idea of running studs through the belts is no small concern either.

mtotjoe...I'll drop you a PM later. Thanks for the offer!

    I hope that's not an omen... :lol3

I talked to a guy last night who ran 1/4 20 bolts through the whole tire from the inside out and put some loctite and a nut on the outside. Got me thinking, what if I ran a drill through, coated a hardened tap-con type panhead screw with some adhesive and screwed it from the inside out? I got an old set of knobbies 90 front, 50 rear, that would be good donor tires, plus a spare set of rims.

    Hmm...:scratch

Skads, as always am on a waiting pattern, to see how work moves along. But the there is a great chance. Winters are slow in Real Estate, spring is great. Thats just the way it goes. I won't know till two or three days before I leave.

12bridn screws from the inside out sounds like traction heaven.

    twelvebridges,

The regular ice screws work really well on ice and are a lot less work to install/remove. If you do any street riding at all it will grind those screws down in no time. The screws I put in on the farm lasted for about 50 miles of commuting this week. I had to dig them out of the knobs last night.

twelve bridges? Really, how drunk was I when this conversation occurred?! :lol3

I was kinda skeptical about the screws after seeing MJ's and MG's rip out. Course, MJ had sheetmetal screws and MG had an 1150. Those could have been contributing factors....

I figure since I have spare wheels, street riding is a non issue.

Come on McD, you're supposed to encourage behavior like this so you can say "I told ya so" when I screw somethin up royally!!
