I was in that exact spot a number of years ago on my 48 state ride. Very pretty area.

We had a parrot for a few years "Peet". We kept his wings clipped and would let him wander the house for limited periods of time. One day I had him on my shoulder while working on my motorcycle in the garage. There was a sudden noise and Peet took off flying down the street. Luckily he landed in a low bush about 3 houses away and I was able to catch him. I didn't realize I could run that fast. Bad thing was I couldn't remember to clip his wings on a regular basis so when he would fly I knew it was time. Having birds can be fun. As long as we had a female dog, Peet was happy. When we got a new male dog Peet wasn't having it. We found a nice girl who became Peet's new mommy.
