Deep South Texas... BP?
Its been nine months and I still have my pup's dog bed on the center seat. Miss my buddy sitting on the center console on my way to work in the mornings.
My wife is addicted to all the PD and Game Warden TV shows, after a few decades as FF/EMT, me not so much but I did enjoy watching a K-9 hop into the cruiser and pull the door closed after him the other night! When our community last had a K-9 he used to come by regularly as a 'rest stop' we had warm or cold water (seasonally) as desired along with some grass and a ball to play with. It got so that if they drove by and didn't stop he would whine. After retirement he came for weekends if 'dad' was working or traveling. Sure do miss him!
He was never allowed on the furniture at home but here.......
Bed < 8’ = play toy. Bothers you doesn’t it?
Depends on the length of your garage.
Why, they make you switch tracks to a siding so the one coming the other way can get by?
Seriously? You think that I am bothered by the fact you have a pickup with a 8ft bed?
Besides the 18 Silverado and 05 F150 I mentioned before, I have a 1 1/2 ton F450 4x4 with a flat bed, a 16 foot heavy duty trailer, and a 12 foot utility trailer to haul materials and equipment. Why in the world would I be bothered that you have a run of the mill pickup truck with a 8ft bed?
And no, I didn't have these trucks back when I was poorer and used a little Nissan to haul building materials. It worked fine, and was always dependable. If I had to do it again, I would not hesitate.
You take yourself, this forum, this thread, and evidently a machine, wayy too seriously.
shhhh, this how I'm justifying my need for a 30x40 shop.
Yep. I take it too seriously.
See my avatar ya big dope. Some are easy prey.
Still bothers you though. Just a little bit.
The bed of my GMC 1500 is only 5'9". But hey, that's an inch longer than I am and it fits in my garage.
But I've got the 6.2 instead of the 5.3 and I'm hoping that will make up for my short stature.
We all have different needs. I’ve posted pics of my ‘83 Toyota with its 6’ bed doing more work than the average diesel one ton running around town will ever see. Still, I’d never buy a full side truck with anything less than eight lugs and an eight foot bed. I am OK with six cylinders though....
It’s also fun to stir things up from time to time. It’s the same friendly robbing we would likely be sharing if we all sat around a campfire drinking and BS’ing. Difference being it’s hard to tell who’s joking when we’re online.
To keep it in track, his name is Duke. Eight lugs, eight feet, four doors and six cylinders.
As in Dukes mayo, it's even the right color. Lol
Nope, no “s” on the end.
It’s Duke, like Marion Morrison’s nickname.
To get Mr cowboy himselfs approval you should have that aftertreatment fall off.
Definitely like the super cab!
The last couple months have been rough on companies that sell delete programs. The EPA has shut down a few already and scared others into stopping the sales. As long as it’s still working I won’t bother with it, but when it starts giving issues I’ll address it by removing it. Until then I’ll enjoy my warranty remaining intact.
I managed to sneak in enough time to get my hitch mounted yesterday and run the camper down the road and back. Duke pulls it just fine of course, but he does sit a bit taller than the Ford did so it’s even more nose high. I’m not worried though, the floater on the axles still has more travel left so it hasn’t gotten to the point of lifting the front axle yet. I’ll throw it on the scales at some point and see what the axle weights are and as long as the rear axle is within its ratings I’ll let it be.
damn I wish they’d quit making trucks taller and taller.
There are a lot of times when I wish my truck had an 8' bed. But AFAIK GM quit putting them on half tons and I couldn't justify getting a 3/4 ton just for a longer bed.
If I had the luxury of a personal truck that didn't get used to haul the family or pull big trailers I would get an extended cab short bed half ton and enjoy the hell out of it.
