My 2018 Silverado rides more comfortably than my 2005 F150 but I don't think it's because it's a newer truck. The F150 rode rougher even when new than the 2004 Silverado I traded for it. The 04 Silverado got hit twice in a year is why I even traded at all and I thought I'd try the F150. I think maybe the F150 was built more for work and the Silverados (1/2 ton 1500) more for basic transportation. I don't know.

Buddy of mine owns a construction company. He always said, “if yer going on a date, take one of the Chevys. If ya wanna get some work done, take one of the Fords”

That’ll probably start a flame war. Just remember, wasn’t me. Quoting a friend.

kind of makes sense to me and I have been in residential construction sine the 1980s. All things considered I kind of prefer a Silverado but to each his own

All my uncles F150s 2002-2014 have all had a stiffness in the ride while not bad definitely noticeable. My 05 1500 is like a lounge chair, rattling and gutless but a comfy ride.

More details on the shell please. From the distance that looks like a work of art.

Thanks, but it's another modest example of my "good enough" philosophy. It's made of 1/4" ply over a 1x2 fir frame and I made it about 1/2" shy of the cab's profile because I had planned to add a finish layer of nice wood to bring it up to flush but in the rest of its 300K miles with me I never got around to it. I actually borrowed the design idea from one I saw in Seattle shortly after buying the truck; his was flat planes instead of curved and taller than cab height. He said, "It's light enough for me to move alone and strong enough to stand on." So was mine. I had my original sketch around here somewhere but I have not seen it in a while.

No, but I learned from the import tuner crowd that if you add a turbo or v-tech badge it adds horse power so I thought I would try it.

Previous owner must have had a beef with Dodge he removed all the badging accept the Cs and added that on the back. Never really thought about it before, but now I am all self conscious about it. Thanks.

He also put the Christopher Walken sticker on the lower left corner. I have grown to like old Chris on there but always hope it doesn't mean something I don't understand.

I just won the auction on this '71 C10, I'm glad to be getting a classic truck again since I sold my '67 C20 in 2013. A birthday present to myself, I think I'll probably strip it down and build it back up with a nice shiny paint job. :clap

I'm so used to my '67 not having them that I forgot the newer trucks had them. :lol3
