Good looking bike.
How old is that front Dunlop?!?
Let’s just say ‘very’..... And it kind of tells the story of the bike. Been sitting for a loooong time. Now I have to decide whether to strip it down and do a frame up job, or just do what is required to put it back on the road. The list is quite long, with mucho love needed. But absolutely worth it, mechanically it’s sweet.
Got a bit on at the moment so plenty of time to think about it.
it's only original once
40 degrees and sunny in January? Time to ride!
Nice RS and nice scenery!
I see you are parked next to another very nice ride (Subaru XV) also fitted with a boxer engine
Nice! What windscreen is that? How do you like it?
Short (16") Parabellum Air Balance. I had the tall one on there but someone said it made my bike look like an RT. I confirmed that this assessment was correct and installed the shorter screen. It's not perfectly quiet, but it's quieter than stock and I get to look over the screen instead of having the lip of the screen bisect my vision, as it did with the tall model.
Thanks for the info Doc!

Nice looking RS !
any special feature for those 200 examples?
Thanks. I'm not sure, I think just full options were fitted on the bike (chrome crash bars and hard cases mounts, cases with color matching covers, warning lights and heated grips), available only in metalic black color with black/silver wheels. They were probably the very last ones to be made. Distributed in some countries only late 1992 and in 1993 at the same time the R1100RS was coming out. Was not available in France at that time actually, BMW France never offered the monolever R100RS. They are very few over here. This one was privately imported from Germany.
I just committed to buying an ‘84 that same color.
Anybody got a BMW pannier key 065?
Well, the pic in my profile looks like an RS, but it is, in fact an
"S" in RS clothing. I don't own that one any more. Here's my '77 "big pipe". I've owned it for 20 years, and quite frankly, the bike is so fun to ride and dependable, I don't know if I'll ever get rid of it. Crappy cell phone pic, sorry about that.
