Side covers, seat cowl, taillight, exhaust pipes, front fender all suck donkey orbs, He liked the mechanical aspects of the mono and even claimed some contribution towards getting it approved by BMW management, but he didn't think they had to ruin his aesthetics to accommodate it.

Seeking a soft-lined tank cover for twin shock RS. Only aware of Motobins source so far.
Will post pics of this new-to-me bike soon.

Looks like my '77; I had the single seat too. I'll have to dig up some more pics. It was a lovely motorcycle, missed dearly.

Interesting how different that graphite paint job looks in direct vs indirect light. Mine does too.

In the right light, the smoke disappears to the same grey as the rest of the tank. Or so it has appeared to me.

Here’s what an 18” (actual 17.5”) length Clearview medium tint windshield looks like on a graphite bike in bright sun. Oem is 15.5” actual length.

Modestly improved rider coverage without converting the RS into an RT. Windstream to top of chinbar (5’10” rider) with no buffeting, surprised its not more turbulent. Shoulders out of windstream and air not funneled down neck which in Spring/Fall will be a little warmer. If needed I could temporarily duck behind it eg meeting a semi/sand blast or insect swarm.
I prefer the look of the stockers lines and in the heat of midsummer it’s preferable. Windstream below helmet/clean air for me.
Hoped the added height would direct windstream to crown of helmet while allowing me to look over top but not even close.

I know that turnout.....intersection of S1 and Hwy 79. Stopped there many times to wait for the the slowpokes. First on a CBR600, then on my 88R100rs. Great memories.

Beautiful! Is the clearview shield thicker than stock? How is it mounted, with plastic screws? Or push-in rivets?

Plastic bolt goes thru a plastic bushing - windshield - fairing - plastic washer - metal nut. Beware the plastic bolts are easily snapped off if tightened too much. They provide a couple of extras and I used them both. They get $12 for an extra 10 pack plus $8-9 shipping...
