I swear I was thinking the exact same thing!! Although a Lefty, after having had a couple Cannondale Mtn-bikes. I must say Nowwhat sure keeps this thread intriguing.

Shit, I meant to say lefty! I was stroking out when I tried to factor in the retained, single caliper. :D

How long or how many miles are your desert scrambles out west? Are they loops back to pits?

Just saw this.....they are all over the place.... for me something like the LAB2V run..(not a race...but a race hahaha) you need a 100 miles...D37 events....can be 40 miles...

I don't know how far Quinn Cody or Wes V...had between pits on the real races....

Thanks.. I'm going to shoot for about 125 mile range on my enduro tank. That will be enough for any of my local races and still be usable for local dualsport events. That's pretty similar to my 950SE range with stock tank, and moderate throttle use. Spirited trail rides I can suck a stock 950SE tank down in 75miles. The 790 has much better MPG than the 950SE.
We don't have any AMA twins classes yet. I guess they feel no one wants to run these bikes in the woods here in the midwest.

We are never going to get the correct amount of weight off these bikes with these stock nylon gas tanks...

something needs to be done....This could get costly...
