+1. Just finished it. One the very best that I've read....
I'd like to suggest The Mobius Trip for The Complete Package.
Meticulous attention to detail, Dr.Rock's report is as inspiring as it is educational. Just a great all round report on the TAT.
+1 A continuing epic.
Bump for our local heroes!
Several New additions on the first page.
I looked but didn't see this one in there: The WRONG Way Round.... on a Chopper!
Epic ride. Great pics. Great read.
The build thread is entertaining as well.
If I missed it I'm still on my first cup of coffee. Sorry.
I noticed earlier in the comments someone suggested "Zen and the art of Motorcycle negligence" by Vermin, but I didn't see it in the lists.
It really should be there. I don't think it gets funnier than that. I'll repost the link.
and there's also the excellent follow-up "The Grapes of Rat"
If they're already in the lists, sorry for the double post.
One of my favorites, its probably already been posted, but here u go again.
Bump for a great resource .
Yes, why not sticky this thread? I know that it can be contentious deciding which threads should be included in the Hall of Fame (HoF) but if Packy is willing to take on this job, what he decides is good enough for me.
Anyway, my $.02 and a bump.
Additions made to the Current Playlist (page 1).
I have just been drooling over the Dakar bikes, thanks for sorting all these threads out PackMule
Could this not be made sticky????
Sydney to London on a moped called Dot by nathanthepostman added to the It ain't the Arrow category.
Also added to The Epics.
Indeed. Added to the Pullet Surprise category.
Amazing photography, amazing RR
El Gringo's Ride for Peace of Mind - the Arctic and Beyond; best RR ever:
Closely followed by Sakurama's 5 up on two bikes or the long way to the Trans Lab. The photography was brilliant, and well written RR too:
Not forgetting Hardwaregrrl's Sick of people? Go to Labrador...Canada take 2 (still going, love this RR)
My 2c worth; loved all these RRs and others besides, but these ones stick in the memory for one reason or another.
I can't believe this one http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=496492 hasn't been mentioned ! Maybe because it is still in progress ??? Unbelievable pictures and a very detailed report. Erica's Highway to Hell Two Months on the road
Roamin' the Rockies: a womans solo adventure thread is surely one of the best well rounded RR's on ADV
Her photos are top notch and her introspective way of sharing was (is) very enjoyable.
Here is one that might have been over looked. This one struck a chord with me
and apparently with a lot of other people too. (1,580,303 views so far)
By Kaneman: Quit my job to go on a little ride
US Tour 07
This is one of those deals that you either Love or Hate!!
Started out as a fantastic idea and story! This R/R is what makes ADV and the motorcycling community so great! This R/R reminds us of what life was like at a younger age before we knew better
And then came the regrets
In the end the guy gets the girl, a dog, and a job. We learn a lot about him, somethings about ourselves, and what a great nation we live in
You're absolutely right!!
Dakar bikes are fantastic
