My wife and I are gonna cruise in the morning, but I'm in Omaha and probably won't venture too far. She's putting her first few miles on her Grom: tomorrow will only be her second time out of the neighborhood lol.

We're gonna take a nice ride through Bellevue, and I may be able to bribe her for a longer ride if I buy her Sushi out west.

Update this thread if you make it to Zestos, and maybe I can contribute after that lol.

I'm sorry I made you ride so far from the Missouri River. :rofl

Not a big trip today since we're contributing to the Nebraska coffers by staying at Mahoney for a few days. Getting a bit breezy here though.

Let's try an interesting cold war era site. This shot was taken down a bit of gravel, but you can get a shot off the pavement as well. IMG_20181019_113240280_HDR.jpg

How about a clue? I can't match up your photo and description with any of the likely places I'm searching.

That's what I was thinking...thanks that narrows it down to two sites.

I found another one that can be added to the map. An old concrete bridge in post #854. The marker would go on the north side of Steinhart Park Rd, just to the northeast of hwy 75, Nebraska City - kind of off the outside of that first curve.

Atlas-D missile site southeast of Mead. I thought that's where the tag was, but Google street view had me confused. Evidently, a new fence was installed after the Google car went down this road.

I find it kind of fascinating how quickly these sites were built, and then how quickly they were decommissioned. There were piles of $$ spent, but that was certainly a different time and there were more important things going compared to today's worries of how many peeps liked your latest social media post.

The origins of this church developed through the work of Pastor S.G. Larson who, in 1869, was instrumental in getting Swedish immigrants to settle in Saunders County. The towns of Swedeburg, Mead, and Malmo formed soon after. I think this church was built in 1879. Riding south of Wahoo on U.S.77, you can see the steeple to the west. A mile and a quarter of gravel to get there.

Any of you other blokes still playing, or do I have to ride all the way over to take another pic of a country church?? :hmmmmm

Yeah, still here. Might try to get it, if not already picked up by another player.

    Yup, still here too.

I might ride out there today also. If Yossarian (or anyone else) gets it before me, oh well. At least it will be a beautiful day to ride!

Well, in the "spirit" of Halloween (ha!), this cemetery is one of the top 10 haunted locations in Nebraska.
OK, I couldn't get there because it's on private property. The sign says:
    Private Property
    Keep Out
    We have guns
And when I heard shooting, I figured better safe than sorry. LOL IMAG0014.jpg
If anyone has a problem with the tag, I'll post another.

You know what? I have a problem with this tag. There's no picture of the actual cemetery and the clue sucks. So...

Give me some time. I have a new tag, but I have to get home so I can edit it.
