I'll bring a uni-bit that drills up to 1 inch and all the tools to make glorious holes in metal.
I always wanted to plant my flag in a glory hole. Thank you, Chris, for making my dream come true.
Bike flag mounted to the exhaust was about six inches too short and they caught it last time. I paid $25 for a proper flag from the shop on site. Will fabled up some mounts that had a 25% failure rate. Mine held.
Anyone considering going Thursday?
You are required to have a light on the bike if you plan to ride at night. Duh. Also supposed to have a brake light, but I don’t think they are super strict about it.
I might try to leave Thursday afternoon.
This is beginning to sound like they can eat a bag of dix.
Maybe the KLR will be back together by then.
It's the brake light. Long drive to find out they're going to be strict about it. I'd rather be at a camp fire after dark. It would be a blast on the yz but I'll bring the KLR or do something different.
They are not checking brake lights.
I'm pretty sure your trailer will haul 2 bikes....
We only ride after dark to come back from Bonhoff and nobody is manning the gates after 5pm.....
Get a cheep bicycle light and clamp it to your bars if you're worried about lights on the YZ. You'll be fine.
No lights required to ride during the day. Just a flag.
And don’t get fucking lost! Navigating dunes at night is no joke. Speaking from experience
You could have almost died that year!!!
Good thing you don't object to drinking your own piss. Otherwise the outcome may have been way different.........
If others are going out Thursday I will also. Since I’m bringing my Travel trailer I can’t bring my four wheeler. Won’t fit in the bed of my truck. Anyone have room for a four wheeler or want to pull a utility trailer with the four wheeler and whatever you want to put in it? 5x10 trailer.
I’ve had several harrowing experiences out there. I’m lucky to be alive.
You haven't had a yard sale for a few years....... "Cleanup on dune 6 please"
If I remember correctly, they banned paddle tires after that.
You'll be fine. Guy I rode with last time had a brand new 450 yamaha mx bike, no lights. He duct taped a flashlight to the handlebars for night riding and didn't do a damn thing for day riding, no issues. If you don't want to dick around with lights don't ride at night. You will have much less fun on a KLR.
Thanks for clarifying. I thought i had to have a brake light for the dunes and it was just getting to be one thing after another. I might bring both bikes for the food ride after. I like the helmet lights dirty linked.
