I saw the trailer today. Can't wait. I'm oncall at work on Sept 18 which means I can't go riding very far. I might not mind so much that weekend!
Later on H-D will make a documentary with the Pan America limited to the streets of downtown NYC.
I mean, really? the LiveWire as an adventure motorcycle? It's simply NOT practical, but of course we'll never see the real behind the scene struggles.
Looks like major mods of the stock Live wire riding position.
Hello HD: want to sell more livewires? Offer ADV ergos.
Since when is adventure supposed to be practical? Although it's 'made for TV' I appreciate the fact that they went the more challenging route of taking electric street bikes over a big BMW or Pan America that was designed for that kind of trip. Reminds me of the folks I ran into on one of my AlCan trips who were riding Vespas to Alaska.
I read a review that stated that the distance on one charge is 80 miles.!! Damn you better have a long extension cord!
fixed it for you
Glad to see the Livewire getting good exposure through AppleTV and with the strong fan following of “The Long Way.. ” series.
Looking forward to watching this when it debuts.
Looks like fun.
Going to watch this with other electric motorcycle buddies when this airs.
I'm watching the beginning of the first episode now while I finish up some work. Very much like the other shows. Interesting to see that they did look at other bikes. I wonder how they settled on the Harley. Time will tell.
I was watching the interview with Adv's Baldy and Charlie Borman and it sounded like they didn't do any real research into the current state of electric bikes, or which one to take. Borman said something to the effect that they assumed all the major mfrs would have electric bikes and was surprised to find out they did not.
Around the 8:00 minute mark or so he addresses their naivete.
Shame that while they were in Italy, they didn’t explore using the Enérgica’s with more charging options and longer range. I suppose those with the say so decided to keep the companies involved as American as possible (HD, Rivian), but just a guess.
41 min into the first episode, hearing Harley employees refer to the motor as the engine was a bit cringe worthy, but credit to both Rivian and HD for putting first run trucks and bikes with adv mods out in time along the 13k mile route. Genuine and interesting to watch and appears to be a great series so far.
This will get me to try Apple+. Which is, I suppose, the point.
Saw the first three episodes today... Loved it for what it is... Ewan and Charlie have great energy and fun together... But man, I'm still hoping they are going crack 50+ mph speeds soon otherwise I fall asleep watching how slow they are going... LOL... Most of the time they are between 30 to 40mph... I know they are trying to extend their mileage between charges but man that's just painfully slow on a motorbike... Still, fun travel doc!!!
And putting along at 30-40 mph?! Lame. I couldn't do it. What's the point?
The first 7 days is free. You can watch the first 3 episodes.
In fairness, many of the roads were rough or sandy and Charley has had 2 major accidents with extensive surgery so I’m sure they wanted to take it a little easy in his current condition.
Watched the first three episodes. Amazing scenery and predictable not-in-production issues. It was entertaining which is what it was for. Having been huge fans of the first two and Race to Dakar, it was great to get the band back together for this one. But, to each their own.
I did a Honda 300 maxi-scooter to Dawson City, Yukon by myself.
