This goes back to 2006, but I believe George Rahn sold them at the original Trails End BMW in Fairbanks, but they may be gone. He was a great guy.

Thanks. Shop seems to still be there, but don’t see mention of Enfield on their website. I’ll give them a shout tomorrow and see if they know of any out there. Happy to have a lead to start with, so thanks again.

George didn’t have a website!!! Trail’s End was purchased by the Harley/Honda shop. I don’t think they took on the RE line. There may still be one in the weeds at the old shop.... it was an amazing place.

Trail’s End BMW was sold in 2007 and is now part of a multi-brand dealership. The former owner of Trail’s End continued to sell Royal Enfields until his passing in 2016. Royal Enfield is not a brand carried by the current Trail’s End and the Royal Enfield website does not list a dealer in Alaska.

Hmmm....so that seems like the end of that trail. Sorry for the bad pun ;-). Might still be worth a call to that dealer to see if they know of any around. Maybe somebody has traded one in, or perhaps they have a defunct one that came with the deal, out behind the shop rotting.

    Anyone have any other leads?

There is one with a side car for sale in Fairbanks. It is a good runner. I don’t remember the owners name. It belonged to her late husband. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Is it on Alaska’s List? Craig’s List?

Hmm...can’t seem to find it on Alaska’s List or CL. Any clue how I’d find it?

George Rahn's daughter and family have taken over his place and I believe there are a few RE's there and likely for sale.
I can make inquiries if desired.

Yes, please do ask, if you don’t mind. You or they can reach me directly at 720-320-8265. It’s a Colorado number, but I’m in Talkeetna.

    Solarmoose,

Did you happen to talk to the family member? Did they indicate that they might have something? Hope I’m not being pushy; just trying to pursue the lead.

Yes, I passed your contact on. You should hear from Cherie or Mo. They've had a lot to deal with lately, but I'll get a phone number next time I see them. send me a PM with your name.

I have an pre unit iron barrel for sale in the flea market that I could probably get as far as Colorado Springs for you. You could always haul it or ride it back to Alaska.

Thanks for the thought. I’m in Alaska now, and won’t have a chance to go to Colorado until fall. Hoping to find one to have here this summer. Also, when I go from Colorado to Alaska in the spring, I need to fly my airplane up there, and it won’t fit in the plane. Sure you don’t want to have an adventure and ride it to Alaska? ;-)

What are you flying? We have a Cardinal. Heard from Cherie or Mo?

I fly turbine Otters, piston Beavers, and a 185 for work, but my personal plane is a Maule.

Haven’t heard from Cherie or Mo yet.

The Cardinal is the 177, correct? With the cantilevered wing? Nice plane.
