From Santa Rosa to Cache Creek to Blairsden Ca.
prefered to stay off major highways, would like to get as much dirt as possible or country backroads.
Armed with a trusty XR650L, cash and cell phone only, i want to do this in a day and visit my Dad.....
I am not familiar with the routes to Cache or across the Valley.
I dont have GPS, just cell phone map and a Plumas NF map too:D.

Thanks for any help and feedback

This is how I get to Graeagle

    Option A (Via 49)
    Option B (Via Quincy-La Porte)
Option C (Via Bucks Lake Rd)

Now, if you wanted dirt, check your Plumas map. Take the La Porte option, but find the route out of La Port that takes you through Johnsville. I rode it on my GS years ago. Should be a cakewalk on an XR

    Something like this (I think)

I'm heading up there Thursday morning with a buddy. I'll be in Graeagle till monday. I plan on riding this either Friday or Sunday.

Here's one option. The AAA Mendo and Sonoma Coast Map shows the first section over past Cache Creek if you've never been that way. Plumas NF maps should show you the last part to Blairsden.

Reiff-Rayhouse Rd off Knoxville Rd is open, I'm not certain about Arbuckle and Sand Creek Rds out of Rumsey, but I think they're open also. Maybe someone else can chime in on those. You might want to call the Plumas NF folks to inquire about the status of the Johnsville McRea Rd out of Gibsonville.

I rode Reiff/Rayhouse (Yolo County Road #40) and Sand Creek Road (Yolo County #41) earlier this month. Gates wide open (except of course the one at the Cache Creek end of #40 at the low-water bridge).

No bikes allowed? You mean the owners banned plated motorcycles from their property? Feck that. politely ride your bike in and park it. No one should care.

I don't know of any single track, but there are lots and lots of fire-roads to play on all over that place.

I'll be on my Ural, but if you are up there and want to go play this weekend, let me know.

No bikes allowed by owner who owns and rides a cruiser. Real lame:huh
I stay at biker friendly river pines resort in Blairsden with my cruiser.

Won't be up there this weekend.. 6 weeks in from shoulder surgery, I don't think the doc knows I'm able to ride the xr, :D
Week 4 I rode my ruckus like 35 miles in town:rofl
week 5 I rode the Xr to pine flat,
Sat I rode to fort Ross rd. felt great to ride, let alone ride the thumper!

I see the doc for 6 week check tomorrow, I think my rehab is going well,
If not I might have to ride more.....got to be careful....:puke1
Thursday I want to get out early pre run the sand creek route via Knoxville

Sounds like you need to have a friend show up with some 500hp super hopped up hot-rod with straight pipes and park that puppy on idle for a few minutes.

I get "No Loud pipes" but to say no bikes?

Well, we all have our rights and it is his property. I guess I have to say it 'Merica.

The park is real nice and quite, with some spots along the Feather, parents been there for 4yrs, i couldn' understand no bikes untill i visited the place, plus the owner does let my dad park his Hawg across the street at the owners house in his Garage along his bike if needed.

But I stay with bike at my door at riverpines.

New fire near Upper Lake, Elk Fire. The road into Mendocino National Forest (Elk Mountain Road) is closed to all but local residents.

Interesting. Depending on the size and spread, one could maybe still use Sam Alley ridge to get up the hill.

Will be changing out my Sprockets & Chain on my Vstrom the weekend of the 27th and am looking to borrow a proper Chain Riveting Tool if one of you FF's would care to lend theirs out. Am located in Sonoma County off Hwy 101 in the Town of Windsor.

Its usually due to a few tards revving their engines and roosting the lots.
Ruins it for everyone, so they just say "no bikes"
