    Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get some decent forest service road maps for my Zumo?

I am looking for maps of the NGA mountains service roads. The maps it has come with are ok but not really much good.

Areas around Cohutta and TWO would be awsome.

    Many thanks in advance.

    My Zumo has the roads.

The Zumo, together with a Georgia Gazetteer, you should have everything you need.

This is the Cohutta on Routebuddy on a mac.

Nice one boys, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Been out of town for a while. I will take a look at feedback.

The reason I was asking for FR maps for the Zumo was that I have just spent a weekend riding up there and some of the roads were missing. I went to the Garmin site and they have only mapped Cali so far.

Look at the DOT County Maps (google DOT county maps and your state) ... just about every state has them on line. Here's a link for the roads in GA... very detailed, but some are getting pretty old and many showing unpaved are now paved, especially around Atlanta.

I know I may be a little late on this but, I have started a mapping resource thread that has many of the links you guys have mentioned and more. Have a look here, and let me know if there are any that I can add.

Do you have some examples? I have put a few thousand miles on dirt around the TWO area and have yet to come across a road that wasnt on the Zumo.

You can buy a map that has all of the north GA fireroads for $5 at the little supply store on route 60 between t.w.o. and Morganton.
Dale's gas station next to t.w.o. used to carry it as well but he sold it to a real motorcycle hating Ahole.

The bigger problem is that your Zumo will show a lot of roads that aren't there any more. And you can not rely on the Zumo to show you which roads are unpaved. Make sure you set your Zumo detail level to Most, or Highest.

Oh man, I hate that INFO-MAP. It's not to scale, and it is missing anything that's not a MAJOR forest road. The only map to get is the one the forest service puts out. One of these days I'll get off my @$$ and make my own map to sell to everyone. :lol3
