Rode to work the otherday... was nice to get out, even if it was just to work and back. Think I've managed to talk the missus into letting me practice balance exercises on the 200 xcw in the backyard though :D Better than nothin and still doable in the winter.

    Greetings all,

Thought I would just wave to all of you local to the national capital region, just moved to L'ange-gardien in the fall, after a year in Southwestern France, and 10 in BC split between the island and Vancouver. Although I grew up in Montreal, winter has become a foreign concept that will be hard to get adjusted to again, looking forward to ride with local inmates when the weather permits. Not opposed to meet at the pub to share tales from the road either.

Maybe not your bag of tea, but a nice way to try and learn about the best riding roads in the region. Last year they finally did try to add a few dirt roads options. Going to the same lunch spot, but by the back roads. Here is the link to the rides: https://moto-outaouais.org/Calendrier.htm and for more casual you have : https://m.facebook.com/groups/1763252767290266
Enjoy the area! You can also look into http://www.ridaventure.ca/ to find weekend special rides and for Ottawa area: http://m.bma1.ca/calabogie-c16.php
    I hope this helps.

PS a special salut to Paul (Iceman), if you want to ride in winter: https://www.paulmondor.com/

I swing by you every few days as I usually take the ferry across at Cumberland. As soon as the snow melts - let's hit it!

    Spot on,

    Is it spring yet?

I've read Paul's winter stories, I think I might have met him at the Langford dealership on the island. Thanks for the tips

Anyone in the Ottawa area (or say within a reasonable drive) that does suspension work either as a pro, or just on the side? Looking to get the front and back of my 690 done. Normally always go with Enduro Engineering - have always had good luck, but the shipping both ways adds up and would like to build some contacts locally.

    Hey Sean!

When you say "done" do you mean serviced or re-valved/sprung?

Only guys that I know of in town are Dave Wrack 613-853-1183 or Kyle at Windmill Motorsports 613-818-3076

Revalved. I have some basic ideas what's wrong with the stack.

Could try giving Lang's Off Road a ring too. Of course you'd have to ship em, but it'd be much cheaper than shipping to EE in the States. Mission cycle does RaceTech work too.

I did, but then got stopped just before the bridge - big gaping washout. You can see the black line across the road near those two cones in the distance.

Water wasn't too deep but it was moving pretty fast.

Cool, sad that it had to stop, did you walked it before crossing?

Maybe I am out of touch but I didn’t realize that the Versys looked so much like a KLR.

    Even the milk crate... IMG_1511.jpg
