Loose Nut Dual Sport Ride 2016:
    Western KENTUCKY- Nov 5 & 6, 2016

Mark your calendars - we are currently planning the 5th Annual Loose Nut Dual Sport Ride in Western Ky on the 5th & 6th of November, 2016. It has been a great time the last four years - we plan to do it again next year and the next year and the next year. Just remember.......it's always going to be a new ride in a new area.........no repeats. So for 2016, we decided that the western region of KY would be perfect. Gonna be hard to top the Great Submarine Creek Crossings of the 2015 Tracks through SE Indiana, but we're going to try and make 2016 the best ever.

This is an ADVENTURE, ride at your own risk, unofficial, find your own way there, provide your own lodging and food, no buy in, no costs, no services provided, no organization, bring you own tools, check out the suggested GPS tracks along public roads, visit fun, historical, out of the way places that you might miss if you weren't from here ( and some that you would ), self guided, bring along your friends, STREET LEGAL dual sport and adventure type motorcycles, gonna have a lotta fun, hope it rains to keep the dust down, lots of gravel roads, dirt roads, trying to stay off pavement as much as possible, etc..............most of you are going to love this ride, some are going to hate it.......if you've been to the Missouri Swinging Bridges rides, Hoosier National Forest rides, NAK Soul Crusher rides, Ride or Die rides, or one of the previous Loose Nut rides then you will understand the ADVRIDER community and how this works. A GPS/GPX file is uploaded with suggested tracks and waypoints - a couple of us are going to ride these roads/tracks on this date - we'd love it if you were there too, but it's a pretty neat ride that was all available to street legal vehicles when it was laid out.........so ride it whenever your schedule allows. If the creeks haven't risen and the bridges don't get washed out and roads don't get closed then these should be some pretty GREAT tracks - Have a GREAT Ride and be SAFE.

Tracks all start and finish at the entrance to the Hillman Ferry Campground in LBL
Plenty of gas stops available along the way - as long as you can make 75 miles or so - i'm guessing nobody will have trouble excepting for any two strokers that show up

Saturday will be about a 227 mile ride through some of the best KY and TN roads i could find.

Sunday will be a shorter 150 mile ride of mostly paved curvy hilly roads in KY that will take us through the Pennyrile State Forest. This will be an easy day and should get everyone back to the finish by early afternoon so they can head for home.

no the tracks arent posted yet.........YES THEY ARE, see Post #3 below.........but they are real close to being ready to be posted...........Yeeeeeehaaaaaw!

Camping suggestion is Hillman Ferry Campground in Land Between the Lakes (LBL). The track files will start and stop at the entrance to the Hillman Ferry Campground for both the Saturday and Sunday suggested routes. The campround host says they have 347 sites available and that we will nearly have the place to ourselves this time of year.
Lots of the sites are NOT available for reservation, but will be available on a first time first served basis. Several have complained that the online reservation system does not work...........it didn't work for me.........i finally just ended up calling them to reserve a site in the T loop.

PLEASE Read: When these tracks were pre-run they were all open non-posted non-gated, bridges intact, not washed out, available and recommended and approved by locals. The pre-riding was done before hunting seasons opened and these routes were open - DO NOT ride around or past GATES, Road Closed / Bridge Out Barricades, No Tresspassing or Private Property Signs. Please use good judgement and be respectful!

Track T1 is associated with Knobby Tracks 01 thru 06
Knob05 is down Spring Rock Rd to a creek - about a mile up the creek and then back on Mathis Cemetery Rd to Hwy 232. Knob06 is an offshoot from Mathis Cemetery Rd to Renfro Rd that the local ATVer's and dirtbikers says everyone rides. It is partially along an old abandoned road (Renfro Rd) through what appears to be timber company property.....but there were a few deer stands adjacent to the road - it was not posted or gated when i pre-rode the tracks, but it appeared to be the most likely to cause problems.

Track T2 is associated with Knobby Tracks 07 thru 09

Track T3 is associated with Knobby Track 10

Track T4 does not have any Knobby Sections

Knobby 11 is not on any of the main routes and has not been pre-ridden, but was not gated or closed the last time i was in the area.......i'll have to try and check it out while i am down there

Navigating these overlapping Tracks will be a Challenge.......Enjoy!

I do plan on making this ride. I just have to get a couple items to complete my SCUBA gear collection and I'll be all set.

I'm in after joining this year... Besides I want another pork chop at Patti's as I think we'll be nearby. You'll never forget a pork chop like that once you have one. Look it up.
