I'm in, my parents live in Kissimmee and have done three cross country rides to see them. I love exploring the Gulf Coast States...

KIMG0028.JPG Good news, now at Wolfy's in Leesburg for lunch with friend, weather is outstanding...bad news, only have my Kryocera mobile (not a computer) with me.

Wolfy's = baseball caps and comfort food. Pensioners and Crackers eat here

94 miles to Perry. There's a lot more to Florida than Disneyland and super highways. Lots of nothing.

East of Tallahassee where I met two riders fleeing Louisiana and Mississippi. Advised me another cold snap was coming thru and they were glad, very glad, to be in Florida. Dressed in mesh and having only one red corpuscle have decided to delay my willy nilly tour until sometime in April.

Dang. I was looking forward to your report. Oh well, I'm sure everything will still be here in April. :beer

Wow. Your operating temperature window must be even narrower than mine. I have had no issues riding here in South Louisiana the last few days.

Well, almost. I could have used my midweight gloves this morning as I rode the DR650 to work. Or maybe I should have ridden the FJR instead and made use of the heated grips. Either way, 61F was not an issue. At least it's stopped raining for a few days.

^^Hiding under the covers for fear of getting a chill on my liver, I continue to check the weather. Currently 30 degrees cooler in Baton Rogue than my home in Winter Park, Florida.

Well it rained Very Hard here (I am just a short distance from BR) this morning so I did not ride to work. It was fairly pleasant while I was outside grilling fish just now.

Let me know when you decide it is warm enough. Where in Louisiana are you planning to ride?

^^Where in fluid, but with the generous help of inmates and my own personal experiences in the area, I have created an Interactive Louisiana-Mississippi Tour Map. For sure, donuts in Natchez and the Kenny Hill sculpture garden.

Lots of good food in the Natchez area. I like Pig Out BBQ in Natchez Under Hill. About 30 miles up the Natchez Trace at the Alcorn University Exit if you go east a mile and then south a mile on 61, in the "town" of Lorman you will find The Old Country Store. I highly recommend their buffet. The best fried chicken you will ever eat that your Mom or Grandmother didn't cook.

^^I have eaten fried chicken in Lorman. IMHO, it's worth the effort to go there.

I have ridden there for lunch several times. I can burn an entire day on that round trip.
