Excellent timing. I was trying to plan a boudin tour for this weekend.

Count me in tentatively for the Carencro crew. I'm on an airhead GS, so take it easy on me.

Anyone have suggestions for cheap accomadations in the Lafayette area?:ear

I'm going to do a river road ride from AR through MS and LA on Sat. Looking to eat a lot of small grosto/family hole in the wall homemade boudin.

I've been looking at boudinlink.com and it looks like Lafayette is the epicenter... I'm fo sho open for suggestions....

Suggest you do a Google search of hotels in lafayette louisiana. I would steer clear of the two roach palaces north of town on I-49. The newest or recently renovated places are along I-49 S (US Hwy 167) or on University Ave/Hwy 182(west of I-10/I-49 interchange) Of the two, I would go with the University area. They are the newest and a Cracker Barrel is next door.

Thanks, those looked good and cheap, but the Cracker Barrell is no enticement on a boudin tour :evil:evil

I see no tent space peeps in the area and it appears like it may be too cold.... At least the hotels are cheap and seem well located...

Check out the Best Stop in Scott (just to the west of Lafayette). Its worth the ride.

Forgot about the boudin tour. For sure there's no boudin at CB. In addition to Best Stop, try Dons Specialty Meats, next to the H-D shop, at the Scott exit(Hwy 93) a coupla miles further west down I-10. There's a KOA campground there as well if you are looking to tent it.

There is a motel 6 off of I-49
2724 NE Evangeline Trwy, Lafayette, LA 70507
its not bad and cheap, stayed there a few times. You will be 1 exit away from the meeting spot and if you go a little further up you will see another Don's.
    104 Louisiana 1252, Carencro, LA 70520
There food is far better than the Don's in Scott weird but trust me. And if you want some fine cajun dinning there is Prejean's down the road
3480 NE Evangeline Trwy, Lafayette, LA 70507

After the ride a few of us are goning to eat in Henderson you can join us if you would like

Concurred. Good stuff for sure. I'm a big fan of their beef jerky.

If you get a chance in baton rouge, Jerry Lee's boudin on greenwell springs road @ Flannery road. Also, Ronnie's on Florida blvd near Monterrey blvd is excellent also. Those are my two favorites in the area.

Sweet. Now my friend is trying to get me to go see Larry Garner play in Zachary if I'm down there..... That makes no sense logistically for the ride and boudin tour. But it would be good to see some blues/zydeco..... I'll figure that out in Lafayette.

Thanks for all the tips. Best stop and Don's were on my list....

Not nessessarly, those are just the vocal ones that are commiting. I know a few lurkers (some buddies I've talked with) that are watching this thread and the one on Dualsport Riders of LA, and some of them may just show up. (like my other son - someone who can't seem to commit to anything! :lol3) As of this moment he says he's gonna show too.

No one knows the head count for sure till you get there :D

    OK Team-

The weather's shaping up to be nice tomorrow. Who's In?

To avoid confusion......let's all meet up at one spot.

We're heading out from the Chevron at the Thompsom Creek Bridge on 61 at 9A.

Lafayette Crew-cross over the Audobon Bridge and once you get to Hwy 61, take a RIGHT (heading back south). Not more than 5 miles down the road, you'll see the Chevron and the rest of the bikes. It's across the street from Red Stick Armature.

    We'll all gas up there.

    2.

If you show up you just might learn about another super secret suare in Feb involving dirt bikes, lots of guns, and a goat.
