Just got back from the Screamin Beaver rally down in Murphy, NC. We rode for miles and miles on fantastic gravel/dirt roads and even a few miles on some very nice single track! Man, I wish we had some stuff like that around here. We climbed one mountain up to a radio tower and the GPS showed 3700 ft., and the view was jaw dropping. That's the highest I've been on a bike so far, I wonder how high a person could get.....?

Anyway, the weather looks great for this Thursday's after work ride:clap

Your gonna have a blast! When down in Tellico, stop by the Tellico Motorcycle Outfitters and ask them about trail 81 and 82. That is some really sweet single track and should not be missed.

Here is a link to some Beaver photos

Just did save it! Gotta work on my power wheelie through the water crossings.

The pictures are not mine - they were taken by a really good rider who would hang out and take pics, then get ahead of us and snap some more. Actually he was also rolling video on the crossing and may post that up later -- it's pretty funny. Oh yeah, the best line is to the extreme far right, not left:eek1

We had a great ride last night, 6 of us met at the HD/BMW on Arthur st. and enjoyed some good cook-out food before heading out to the hinter lands of Southern Indiana. Jeff Cooke led us out of the Metro into Indiana where we rolled on some nice backroads with lots of fun twisties. We put in between 50-60 miles before stopping at Polly-Freeze for some refreshment.

We are going to try to make this a regular Thursday event with the same meeting location and time. If you get there a little early, you can get some good food cooked-up by the local HOG group.

Another great ride last night with Jerry and Jeff Cook taking us on another great tour of southern Indiana, including some opportunities for proper "adventure" riding. :evil Finished off with dinner at Tumbleweed and talking logistics for the 2010 Lap of Kentucky kicking off next Thursday morning. GPS on my iPhone was struggling to keep loocked on a signal last night, so unfortunately I don't have a track to post. I'd love to figure out where we made that turn off on the bit of gravel trail over to the trailhead of Knobstone Trail.

    Looking forward to next Thursday!

Another great ride guys. Closed roads? We ain't afraid of no closed roads!

No vehicles past this point? That don't mean scooters do it?

Here's my track of the ride.
