Dave was with me on my big ride last year, I'm sure of it.

What an inspirational young man. He lived what we always say to ourselves but often forget to do: not just dream it but do it. Rip ShooterDave.

5 years since Dave passed. Where does the time go. I hope you're still enjoying the ride buddy.

It"s been 5 years.. He was an outstanding young man, and his passing still brakes my heart.

I never got it clear, did he know he was sick and that's why he made the trip?

I was under the impression it was a very aggressive cancer that happened after he got home. IIRC he was already making plans for another big trip.

Here's what his fiancee wrote a few pages back:

Hi all, this is ShooterDave's fiancée. I noticed your comments and wanted to confirm the details. ShooterDave was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia back in June of 2013. He fought a damn good fight and went to be with the Lord January 11, 2014. He was an amazing man and I was privileged to be his fiancée. In the 21 months I knew him we took a total of three road trips on a 650 V-Strom and we both loved every minute of it. He loved life, motorcycles and bringing joy to people's lives. I feel honored to have known him.
