After crossing over Bay St. Louis we were prompted to turn left to stay on Hwy 90. Big mistake. We should have stayed on 607 and turned left on 604. Turning onto Hwy 90 was 20 miles of the worst road in the south for this Vespa. It was bone jarring. Mr. Munch had to stay hunched over to avoid jarring his back for what seemed like 20 miles. 607 to 604 is a much smoother, much nicer ride. Plus is dumps you out past most of the bad part of Hwy 90. Before getting to New Orleans "proper," we traveled through Bayou Sauvage. Here you will see how they zoned the flood stages. We also found this great home. More character. Also, Cudo's to the guy who figured out that building a wood home on the coast is not a great way to survive a hurricane. If you can afford to live here. You can afford to do it right. Check this out. A monolithic dome. How cool. We have never seen one in the south. Mr. Munch thought that maybe they were too heavy to be on soft soil. I guess he learned something today. This one is trying to levitate. How cool is that?
