Yah, see "healthy" is the part that's difficult lol... living within your means sucks!
Plan was a 4 hour ride had to hustle home to make it in 5
nice looking bear
Hosting an ADV ride in the valley on Sunday. It's about a 4.5 hour loop start and finish at the Chevron Hwy 1 and 232nd 10:30 am start. Photos from my recon yesterday.
I think I might be able to join you Sunday as my bike has been sitting too long and it looks like a good way to get out.
Will post commit on Saturday.
Hi Filter Wrench,
Is a noob welcome to go and handle this course? Thanks
Yes as long as you are able to ride for just over an hour between breaks. The ride will take about 4 to 5 hours. 270 km most all pavement mabey 15km gravel. If you come and ride bring a gps to record your track as you will never remember the route first time round. It's a cool loop.
I am in for sure on Sunday Oct 27 filterwrench ride.
See you tomorrow morning.
Do we need to bring a lunch?
Sounds good.... you can pack a lunch if you like we will also be stopping for a break at the petrocan at Sylvester road and HWY 7 right around lunch time.
Great weather for late October. No bugs!
Missed this ride, will try next time.
Any one riding tomorrow? Thinking of going out to the new GA Checkpoint to check out the new Tenere 700.
I went to check it out, even on ballerina toes I was hard pressed to keep it upright! (I'm 5'7") No Tenere for me I guess.
Sounds good for me! 6'5... although I still think the Super Ten is the one for me... One day I will have my ADV bike and be able to join the group here!
Take a look at the pictures on page 3 of this thread, one of these bikes is not like the others
I recognize that motorcycle... point taken!
All I could find today were Rock Gardens
A buddy and I rode near Harrison Mills recently. Video is under a minute.
Here’s a map of where we rode to Chehalis and back. We did the purple route. We were trying to do the blue route but got blocked by the big gate you saw in the video. It’s about 60 km out and back on the purple route.
Beautiful day for riding today... I'll be doing the Christmas market with family.
I just wanted to chime in after a bit of an absence. I was knocked off the bike in early September by a young woman with a new, minty-fresh, 6 day-old piece of yellow paper from ICBC showing that she had full driving privledges. Shame she never learned to shoulder check beyond needing to do it in her road test...l
Bike is repaired and back - mostly expensive farkles, not anything structural. Same with me, I was remarkably unscathed - and my riding suit has not a scratch on it. Thank you, Mr. Rocket. New helmet, and I got the bike back the weekend after thanksgiving, with a couple of non-essential parts on order.
Anyway, I'm riding again, still commuting, and had a couple of great trips this summer. I will still ride through the winter, but my weekends are (naturally) really busy over the next bit.
If anyone is interested, the registration for the Touratech Rally in Plain, WA goes live on New Year's day. I'm signing up for sure. Perhaps next year at TTR I can get @Steve G., @MikefromNL and a couple of others to do some of the easier "green and blue runs" with me so I can gain a bit more confidence.
Anyway. Hey guys. I've missed you, I hope you are all well. I'll change the title in 2020 to reflect the marching on of time...
